Compton, Elmer Fredericson, A. I. Hoyt,Jr. Floyd Jones, Kennie 'e'4ilcox, Jr, Assistant Chief of Police Dan Dowda, Claud Bads, Secretary , W. K. McClain, Attorney, Lee C. Black, City Manager. Manager Black, read the minutes of the previous meeting and on motion of Alderman Fredericson, seconded by Alderman Jones, minutes were approved. 1r. Black then read his report and submitted bills against General Fund in the amount of $715.80. Motion by Alderman Compton, seconded by1ilcox,Jr. that reports be approved and bills paid. Motion carried. Mr. Frank,Faris Resident Engineer of the State Highway Department dis- cussed the resutfacing of Church Street from 12th, to South City limit linesp provided the City would pass no parking ordinance on this section, and that the State Highway would take over the maintenance of this section of Church Street. After discussion Alderman Fredericson presented, No Parking Ordinance see Ordinance Book Page . Motion by Fredericson, seconded by Hoyt that the ordinance be read first reading. Roll call vote was as follows, Compton, Fredericson,Jones, 17ilcox, Hoyt- Ayes No none. PAPKING ORDINANCE, SECOND READING: T;Rotion by Hoyt, seconded by Jones, that this ordinance contain the emergency clause, and that usual rule for passing of of the ordinances be suspended and the ordinance be read by caption, hereafter: Roll call vote, Compton, Fredericson, Jones, Hoyt, ITilcox. Ayes No none. PARKING ORDINANCE, THIRD READING: Motion by Jones, seconded by Vilcox, ordinance: be read by caption for third and final reading. Roll call vote, Compton, Fredericson, Jones, Hoyt, +�ilcox, Ayes- No none. Mayor declared ordinance passed. Health Unit presented their budget for year 1959-60 requested increase for City's part, total amount of �2,520.00. This is $120.00 increase over last year budget. After discussion on the motion of Fredericson, seconded by Compton increase be granted. Motion carried. A letter from Mr. Ray '+dalden stating he was discontinuing his Taxi business as of June 30th. A request from Mr. Calvin I14arshall that he be given taxi permit was accepted by council. Resolution of Respect in Itiemory of A. P. Pickle see Ordinance Book Page 168 . Mayor Forbes, Requested that council approve the appointment of Mr. ban D mwda as Chief of Police. Motion by Compton, seconded by Jones. Lotion carried.
