The City Council met in regular monthly session on the above date,
Mayor 1% F. Smith presiding, the following being present: city
Manager Lee Y. 731adk9 Aldermen: F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain,
C. C. Hamilton, 7. T'. Hoffman, Jr., S. E. ',TTilcox. Officers: C. S.
Sand=rs, assessor and collector: 1% L. Cates, secretary.
On motion of Alerman "Tilcox, seconded by Alderman Chastain the min-
utes of all previous meetings were approved.
,ON Yotion of Alderman 7. P. Hoffman, Jr. the reports of the City
Assessor and Collector Sanders and Treasurer E*ss Estella Byrom
were received and filed.
On motion of Aldbrmhnchbehholz all approved accounts were prdered
paid, including $100.00 Tendered to Former City I. -Tanager 3. H. Cruce,
for services rendered the city since his resignation.
Ordinance Committeeman Chastain presented the salary ordinance
for the ensuing two year term: specifying the salary of ten dollars
per month for aldermen and forty dollars permonth and the uusual
fees for the Mayor of said city. (See ordinance attached)
Alderman Chastain moved that -the ordinance be read, which motion
was seconded -by Alderman Chastain which was carried unanimously.
The Ordinance was read in full. On motion of Alderman Chastain
seconded by Alderman 7% P. Hodffman, Jr. that there appearing an
emergency the usual rules requiring the reading of ordinances
for reading in full for three successive meet ings, be and hre here
by suspended, that the said ordinance shall bere ad only by caption,
hereafter and be passed to the second reading. The motion was
passed by the following vote: Ayes --Buchholz, Chastain, Hamilton,
Hoffmanp "?ilcox> "Toes --none.
The Ordinance was read by Caption. On motion of S. E. 7ilcox,
seconded by Alderman 3. F. 'Buchholz, the usual rules for passing
ordinances were suspended, and the sa.id'ordinance was passed to
its third reading by the following vote. Ayes--3uchholz, Chastain,
Hamilton, Hoffman, 'Wilcox. 'Toes. '`Tone.
Ordinance was read by Caption. On motion of Alderman 'V'. P. Hoffman..
Jr. and seconded by Alderman C. C. Hamilton that the said prdinance b
-be finally passed was carried by the following unanimous vote;
Ayes; Buchholz, Chastain, Hamilton, Hoffman, Wilcox. Noes --none.
A Resolution was presented and read by Committeeman Chastain of which
the following is Caption: "A Resolution of the City Council of the
City of Georgetown, Texas, authorizing and empowering the 'r�-or of the
said City to execute the attached contract between the attaz said city
and the Layme- Texas Co., ltd for the drilling of a water --ell, for
said city, in the extension and improvement of the Water orks System of
the sid City; and stipulating that all made by the city
under the said contract shall be paid frl= ,t of the funds earner by
and belonging to the utilities System of the said City, and that no
portion thereof shall be paid from money raised by Taxation.""
On motion of F. F. Buchholz, seconded by A. R. Chastain the motion
was carried, the following being the vote. Ayes --Buchholz, Chastain,
'Vilcox. Noes --Hoffman, Hamilton, See Resolution on page 176-A)
There appearing no further business the Council adjourned.
