Smith presiding, the following ald:rmen and officers being present: Aldermen F. n. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, C. C. '-iamilton, Ioffman, Jr. a.nd Sam . F. Wilcox. Officers, Mayne I�a.�ill, marshal; Calvin S. Sanders, assessor and collector; 7. L. Cates, secretary and B. 7T. Cruce City 111a.nager. On motion of Alderman Chastain all -approved bills were ordered paid. On motion of Alderman Hoffman the monthly report of City 1:111arshal Tune 7K.agill was received and filed. The committee -?pointed to make investigation of the location of a telephone for the use of the city marshal and watchman reported the it had decided to leave the telephone at its present location, but'had decide-_d to attach therPtn a gong. A motion was made and passed unanimously that the city marshal shall deputize the nightwa.tchma.n, whoich is at present Thomas Russell, Jr. and Require th9'1t-7he- ive:ari official pond. The Committee appointed at the last meeting to investigate and recommed.dethe tax rate for the ensuing year, the seme rate of �"1.24 on the j�100 valua-tion. ordinance Committeeman, Alderman J.7. Caption: "An 1)rdinance of the City of G-eorgeto in, fixing the salaries of officers oft the said city to be elected at the regular City election to be -Seld April 3_°d, 1945:' The above salary ordinance was presented by Committeeitan J.
