AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNICL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT
MAP, AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF THE MAP OF THE
ORIGINAL ORDINANCE: TO CHANGE 6.42 ACRES OUT OF THE C. STUBBLEYIELD
SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 558, AS DESCRIBED BELOW, FROM "RP" RESID-
ENTIAL.PLANNED DISTRICT TO "C-2-A" COMMERCIAL, FIRST HEIGHT
DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL'OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose
of changing the zoning ordinance -on the following described real estate;
BEING 6.42 acres of the C. Stubblefield Survey, Abst. #558 in Williamson
County, Texas, part of a tract described in a Deed to James L. Shepherd et
al of record in Vol. 534, Page 661, Deed Record, Williamson County, Texas,
BEGINNING at an iron pin at the SE corner of the'Shepherd et al tract
in the North right of way line of Ranch Market Road #2243, 66.5 feet from
the center of the Georgetown Railroad at right angles,
THENCE S 700 44' W 268.9 feet with the North ROW line of the Highway
to set an iron pin,
THENCE N 110 55' E 1152 feet to set an iron pin 50 feet at right angles
from the fenced North line of Shepherd tract,
THENCE S 890 40' E 270.9 feet to set an iron pin in the fence along the
East line of the Shepherd'tract and west line of Railroad Street, 31 feet
at right angles from center of Railroad,
THENCE S 110 55' W 711.4 feet with said fence to a fence corner post,
THENCE N 880 50' W 36 feet with the North line of the Old Leander Road
to a fence corner post,
THENCE S 110 55' W 349:1 feet with the fenced West line of the Old
Leander Road to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the
Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and
report; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of
said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R-P", Residential
Planned District, to "C-2-A" Commercial First Height District which said
meeting was held on Tuesday the 7th day of September, 1971; and
WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same one time in the
Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas,
which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time
was not earlier than 15 days from the first day of such publications; and
WHEREAS, the City planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in
the Zoning Ordinance; said approval being given by said commission on the
7th day of September, 1971; and
WHEREAS written notices were given to all of the owners of the lots
within 200 feet of the above described property as required by law;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of George-
town, that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown,
be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is
hereby removed from "IMP" Residential Planned District to "C-2-A" Commercial,
First Height District.
The enactment of this Ordinance being necessary to the immediate
preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of
a municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall
have and take effect following its present reading and adoption.
READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED BY unanimous vote this 13th day of September, 1971.
