HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 03.14.1972 - Annexation Ordinance26PW 4 ANNEXING ORDINANCE ? a Z- An Ordinance annexing the hereinafter described territory to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and extending the boundary limits of said City so as to include said hereinafter described property within the City Limits, and granting to said territory and to all future inhabitants of said property all the rights and privileges of other citizens and binding said future inhabitants by all of the acts.and ordinances of the said City. WHEREAS, a Petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation having an interest in the foregoing described territory described to -wit: A tract of land being 30.6 acres out of a 47.817 acre tract conveyed to San Gabriel Land and Development Co., a Partnership which conveyance is re- corded in Volume 542, Page 640 of the Williamson County Deed Records which 30.6 acre tract is more fully described as follows: COMMENCING at an iron pin for the southwesternmost corner of the City Limit Line as described on Page 389, City of Georgetown Ordinance Book No.l; THENCE S 850 06' E a distance of 299.26 feet along the present City Limit Line to the POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE S 850 06' E a distance of 397.24 feet along the present City ,d r Limit Line; 0THENCE N850 59' 26" E a distance of 281.94 feet along the present City Limit Line; U L� THENCE N 740 42' 31" E a distance of 666.00 feet; THENCE S 190 06' E a distance of 171.07 feet; THENCE S 70 07' E a distance of 692.72 feet to the north line of R.M. Highway 2243; THENCE the following nine courses along the north line of said R.M. Highway 2243: S 640 12' W a distance of 100.10 feet; S 610 18' W a distance of 99.95 feet; S 580 06' W a distance of 100.08 feet; S° 570 34' W a distance of 11.85 feet; S 560 33' W a distance of 288.02 feet; S 580 42' W a distance of 100.08 feet; S 610 55' W a distance of 100.08 feet; S 640 31' W a distance of 65.30 feet; S 650 27' W a distance of 366.87 feet; THENCE leaving said north line of R.M. Highway 2243, N 190 52' W a distance of 1287.24 feet; THENCE N 40 44' W a distance of 1.33 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, AND, THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared Jay C. Sloan, known to me to be the person and officer whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknowledged to me that the said was the act of said corporation that he was duly authorized to perform the said, that he executed the same as the act of said corporation for the purposes and consideration therein expressed and in the capacity therein stated. GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND SEAL OF OFFICE this 14th day of February, 1972. Notary Public in and for Williamson County, Texas WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacant to the City of Georgetown Texas and is not more than one-half (2) mile in width and, WHEREAS, said Petition was presented to the City Council on the 14th day of February, 1972, such date being not less than five (5) and not more than thirty (30) days from the date hereof and, WHEREAS, after hearing such Petition and the arguments for and against the same, the City Council has voted to grant such Petition and to annex said territory to the City of Georgetown, Texas: Now, therefor, by the ordinance of the City Council of the City of George- town, Texas: That the foregoing described property be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas and that the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas be and the same are hereby extended to include the above -described territory within the City limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the same shall hereinafter be included with the terri- tory limits of said City , but the City shall have no obligation to install streets, water lines, sewer lines or other utilities on said land,. future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Georgetown, Texas and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said City. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of Georgetown, Texas, a certified copy of this ordinance. Passed on the first reading this 14th day of February, 1972.
