HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 72-5 - Prohibiting BB Guns274 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF EAST STREET ALSO NOIV RNT CT',N AS DOLLY STREET WHICII LIES EAST OF AND ADJACII T TO BLOCK IV'0. 8 OF THL SHELL ADDITION TO THE CI`IY OF Gi;O_tGET01'IN, TYYAS. `sIhll:IIEAS, application has been made to vacate and abandon that portion of East Street, now known as Holly Street which lies adjacent to and east of Block No. 8 of the Shell Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas as shown on the Plat Records in Vol, One, Page Forty, Plat llecords of Williamson County, Texas and, `WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council that said portion of said street has never been opened, has never during the past 50 years been used as a street and that there is no necessity for the location of such a street in said portion of this city and that said portion of said street should be vacated, abandoned and closed. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGE- TOWN, TEXAS that the portion of East Street now know as Holly Street lying East of and adjacent to Block No. 8 of the Shell Addition to the lity of Georgetown, Texas as shown upon the plat of said Shell Addition of record in Vol. one, Page Forty, Plat Records of Williamson County, 'texas being 60 x 240 feet in size be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and abandoned as a street or roadway by the City of Georgetown, Texas. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: SECTION I. It shall be unlawfull for any person in the City of Georgetown, Texas to fire or discharge any BB gun, BB rifle, or any BB gun of any description within the corporate limits of Georgetown, Texas, except as may be permitted by the laws of this state or United States. Any violation of this ordinance shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $1.00 nor more than $200.00.
