ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ON THE 8TH DAY OF NOV111BER, 1971,
AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP, AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART
OF THE NIAP OF THE ORIGINAL ORDINANCE: TO CHANGE TRACT 01' LAND OUT
OF THE WEST ADDISON SURVEY MEASURING 176.1 FEET BY 150 FEET LOCATED
IN GEORGETOI4N, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-S, SINGLE FAMILY DISTRICT,
TO R_M2, MULTIPLE FAMILY DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
WHEREAS, an application has been made to City Council for the purpose of
changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate:
Being 0.60 of an acre of land out of the William Addison Survey in William-
son County, Texas, and being out of and a part of the 31.7 acre tract of
land conveyed by Paul C. Howard to Grady It. Watkins by deed dated March 7,
1969, and recorded in Vol. 515 Page 368 of the Deed Records of Williamson
County, Texas, and described as follows, to -wit:
BEGINNING at the N. IV. corner of the 31.7 acre tract of land at the point
of intersection of the West line of the 31.7 acre tract and the South Right
of Way line of Texas State Highway No. 29, a point for the N. W. corner
hereof;
THENCE along the South line of the R.O.W. of State Highway No. 29, N. 70
deg. 56' E. 175.19 feet to the West line of a 20 foot easement the N. E.
corner hereof;
THENCE along the Kest line of the 20 foot easement S. 19 deg. 10' E. 150
feet for the S. E. corner hereof;
THENCE S. 71 deg. 06' W. 176.10 feet to a point for the S. W. corner hereof;
THENCE N. 18 de;. 49' W. 149.49 feet to the place of BEGINNING.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the
Zoning Ordinance to the Citv Planning Commission for its recommendation and
report; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said
Ordinance on the above described property from "R-S", Residential Single Family
District to "R-M2", Residential Multiple -Family District, which said meeting
was held on the 6th day of June, 1972; and
WHEIt,EAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing; the same one time in the
Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas,
which said notice stated the time and place -of such hearing and which time was
not earlier than 15 days from the date of such publication; and
WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of the lots within
200 feet•of•the above described property as required by law;
NOiV, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
that the 'Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown, be
amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby
removed from "A-S", Residential Single Family District to "R412", Residential
Multiple -Family District.
The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preser-
vation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of a
municipal government, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall
have and take effect following its present reading and adoption.
