HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 72-18 - Setting Traffic Speed Zones30t AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, -?� AMENDING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GOEGETOWN, TEXAS, RELATIVE TO ZONING FOR TRAFFIC AND RATE OF SPEED THEREIN ON R. M. HIGHWAY 2338 IN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN DATED OCTOBER 19, 1972. BE IT ORMINED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN: Section I: The Ordinance passed and approved by the City Council of the City of George- town on October 9, 1972, a copy of which is attached to this amendment and identi- fied as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof for all purposes is hereby amended so that the two (2) portions thereof dealing with "School Speed Zone" shall have added to said paragraphs the following: "Said prima facie maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour shall also be applicable from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on school days when posted." Section II: All portions of said October 9, 1972, Ordinance are hereby in all things ratified and approved. Prompt action should be taken on this Ordinance in order that traffic may be regulated along'the public streets of the City of Georgetown for the safety of its citizens and such need creates an emergency requiring the rules that provide that an ordinance shall be read at two seperate meetings of the City Council before final passage, be suspended; and that said rules are hereby sus- pended, and this ordinance is here and now passed and that it is ORDERED that this Ordinance, amending said October 9, 1972, Ordinance take effect from and after its passage and publication.
