ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, J. H. Compton has made application to the Planning and Zoning Commission
for issuance of a special permit authorizing the erection of an advertizing sign of the outdoor
variety of a height of 28 feet adjacent to the building owned by said applicant of a height of
17 feet; and,
WHEREAS, Subsection 14 of Section 2.0401 styled "Use Regulations" for C-1 Local
Commercial District Regulations provides that no sign shall have a height greater than any
building on the premises on which it is located; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has fully considered such application
at its April 23, 1973, meeting; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has voted to grant such application for
the erection of such sign on Lot 5, Block 1, City of Georgetown Glasscock Additbon,
Williamson County, Texas.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that the said application for special permit to erect an outdoor
advertizing sign with a height of 28 feet adjacent to building of 17 feet in height is hereby
granted and a certified copy of this ordinance shall serve as such permit.
The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of
public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department,
it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its
present reading and adoption.
