HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 09.10.1973 - Amending Zoning District Map325 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 'ZONING ORDINANCE PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP OF O THE ORIGINAL ORDINANCE: TO CHANGE ALL OF TRACT ONE -A , ROYAL OAKS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME 6, PAGE 68, PLAT RECORDS OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM RM MULTIPLE FAMILY DISTRICT TO C-1 LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FO RTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an Application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the zoning ordinance on the following described real estate; BEING all of Tract One -A, Royal Oaks Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 6, Page 68, Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas; AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "RM" Multiple Family District to "C-1" Local Commercial District, which said decision was reached by the City Planning Commission after having had a hearing on said matter on May 7, 1973 at 7:30 ; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same on April 19, 1973 fn the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and pace of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first date of such publication; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the aforesaid change in the Zoning Ordinance; said approval being given by said Commission on May 14, 1973; and, WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of the Lots within 200 feet of the above described property as required by law; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the QTfy Council of the City of Georgetown, that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown, be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same is hereby removed from "RM" Multiple 326 Family District to "C-1" Local Commercial District. The enactment of this'Ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adoption.
