ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF WEST
FIFTH STREET IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY,
TEXAS, DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A" HERETO ATTACHED, AND A PORTION
OF WEST STREET IN SAID CITY, DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "B" HERETO ATTACHED
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the City Council by the Urban Renewal
Agency of the City of Georgetown, and by Rubenia Parker Smith, acting by and through
her duly appointed and acting Guardian, Wanda Marie McDonald, having been so appointed
in Cause No. #7428, Probate Court, Williamson County, Texas, and by William Edgar
Taylor, with respect to certain properties situated in the Urban Renewal Project, South
San Gabriel, Tex R-102; and
WHEREAS, said petition states that the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of George-
town and other property owners mentioned above, are the sole owners of all of Block 19
and all of Block 32,said Blocks being of the Original Townsite of Georgetown, Williamson
County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Plan for this portion ofthe City of Georgetown calls
for development of such Block 19 and 32 and a portion of West Fifth Street, described in
Exhibit "A" hereto attached, and a portion of West Street, described in Exhibit "B" hereto
attached, as a whole, and that in order for such development to proceed, it is necessary
to vacate and abandon such portions of such streets; now therefore be it
ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
that the portions of streets described in Exhibits ";A"' and "B" hereto attached, be and the
same are hereby vacted, closed and abandoned.
And, WHEREAS, in order to avoid a thirty days delay in making the lots out of such
property available for construction of residences thereon, and it being represented to the
City Council of the City of Georgetown by the Chairman and Secretary of the Urban Renewal
Agency that there is a need for making such lots available for redevelopment in the Urban

Renewal Project Area, it is declared that there is an emergency for this Ordinance to be passed
on First Reading, and the same is so passed on First Reading, the Second Reading being dispensed
with for the reasons set forth herein.

FIELD NOTES FOR URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY
Vacation of 5th Street from the West margin of West Street to the East margin of Hodges Street
BEING all of 5th Street which lies West of the West margin of West Street and extends to the
East margin of Hodges Street as shown on the official map of the City of Georgetown, Williamson
County, Texas, and being more particularily described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southeast corner of Block 19 in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County,
Texas, said point being where the West margin of West Street intersects the North margin of 5th
S treet;
THENCE West, 240.00 feet along the North margin of 5th Street and the South boundary lineof
Block 19, to the Southwest corner of Block 19, said point being on the East margin of Hodges
Street;
THENCE South, 60.00 feet, crossing 5th Street and along the East margin of Hodges Street, to
the Northwest corner of Block 32;
THENCE East, 240.00 feet along the South margin of 5th Street and the North boundary line
of Block 32 to the Northeast corner of Block 32, said point being on the West margin of West
Street;
THENCE North, 60.00 feet across 5th Street and along the West margin of West Street to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 14,400 square feet.

tract of land and that to the best of my knowledge and belief, said description is true and correct.

FIELD NOTES FOR URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY
Vacation of 5 feet off of the West side of West Street from the South margin of 4th Street
to the North Margin of 6th Street.
BEING a 5 foot wide strip of land off of the West margin of West Street and extending
from the South margin of 4th Street to the North margin of 6th Street in the City of George-
town, Williamson County, Texas, according to the official map thereof;
BEGINNI NG at the Northeast corner of Block 19 -in the City of Georgetown, Williamson
County, Texas, said point being where the South margin of 4th Street intersects the West
margin of West Street;
THENCE SOUTH, 540.00 feet along the West margin of West Street and along the East
boundary lines of Blocks 19 and 32, to the Southeast corner of Block 32, said point being
where the West margin of West Street intersects the North -margin of 6fh Street;
THENCE East, 5.00 feet to a point;
THENCE North, 540.00 feet with a line parallel with the West margin of West street
to a point on the South margin of 4th Street;
THENCE West, 5.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 2700 square feet.
