Secretary City of Georgetcwn, Texes AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendrkent a part of the map of the original ordinance; to change the hereinafter described real estate in said City from one Family Dwelling District to "B-l", Local Retail District, as hereinafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: VUEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: All that certain tract of land situated in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, being a part of Block No. One of the Snyder Addition to said City, more par- ticularly described as folbows: BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Block No. 1, Snyder addition to said City of Georgetown; Thence South with the East line of Walnut St. 130 feet; THENCE East and parallel with 12th Street, 120 feet; THENCE North and parallel with the East line of Walnut Street, 130 feet,' THENCE West with the South line of 12 h Street, 120 feet to the Place of Beginning® AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Comfiaission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has aproved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from Local Retail District, which said meeting was held on August 31, 1964; and, W1lEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zonign Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the saiiie three times in the Williamson County Sun, a wvekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than 15 days from the first day of publication; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zonign Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and, DO 8 6 WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners )f lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law NOW'THEREFORE, be tix it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, that the Koning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property described above shall be and the same if hereby nemoved form One Family Dwelling District to "B-I", Local Retail Di trict. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the ir ediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operationil f the municipal departO ment, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall [lave and take effect following its present reading and adoption. MCMASTER, CITY ATTORNEY RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is located in Williamson lounty, in the State of Texas and in the watershed of the San Garbiel Rk-ver, nd WIIEREAS, the City of Georgetown is in great need of an assured source of water to meet its future municipal and industrial needs; and., WHEREAS, the City of t eorgetown is eager to contract for' his assured water supply and is willing to join with other State and local inteil is in assuming the ew,.ts of constructing, maintaining and operating the spaces n wl, i -ich are allocated ; i to conservatioof water within the three proposed dame, Lanelort, North San Gabriel, and South San Gabriel, provided that these cost are'reasonable and comparable to costs of such stored water in other areas of the Brazos River water E ed; and, WHEREAS, recent studies and reports have shown costs of liter in the conserva- tion storage spaces now proposed in the three San Gabriel res(rviors are consider- ably higher than costs of such stored water in other Brozos It, er tershed reser- voirs; and, WHEREAS, it is important that all three reservoirs be constructed as soon as practicable to alleviate the continue threat of floods which I the watershed faces from the now uncontrolled water of the San Qabriel River, NOID&I THEREFORE, BE IT ROSOLVED, that the Mayor and City I uncil of the City 3 of Georgetown, Texas, do hereby join with the Brazos Riff-er Authority in requestingT that during the pre -construction planning stage of Laneport, outh San Gabriel andX-UXN North San Gabriel reservoirs, further consideration be given ;lo reducing the costs of the conservation storage space in these reservoirs and therebt reducing the cost of water which may be obtained from the siad reservoirs, and tha; this resolution be forwarded to the District Engineer, Fort Worth Distirct, U.
