HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 03.08.1965 - REZ Gabriel Heights Block 1AUNDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas,amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the original ordinance ; to change the hereinafter described real estate in f-coi.r., "-Ji?-111, One District to "H-2". Duplex and Apartment District, as hereinafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the CJ-t", of Texas: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: Being lots, 1, 29 3, and 4 in Block 1, Gabriel Heights Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas, as shown in Vol. 4, Page 25, Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas. AND WHEREAS, the City CouLcil has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R-l", One Family Dwelling District to "R-2", uplex and Apartment District, which said meeting was held on February 16, 1965; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same three times in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of "eorgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and. tit WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Courfil of the City of Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance, and 'tie Zoning Map of the City, of Georgetown be amended so tkat the PIDperty above described shall be and the same is hereby removed f?om "R-111 , One Famj,'IyT'jwelling District, to "H-2", Duplex and AparVient District. The enactment of this ordinance beiag necessaiy to the immediate of preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, 't is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take ,,ffect following its present reading and adoption .
