HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 01.24.1966 - Traffic and Speed Zoning48 0 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ZONI IG FOR TRAFFICI AND RATE OF SPEED THEREIN, R.M. 2338, AND DECLARING RATE OF SPEED ON OTHER STREETS; DEFINING SPEEDING AND FIXING A PE ALTY THEREFOR; DECLARING WHAT MAY BE A SUFFICIENT COMPLAINT INTRO ECUTIONS HERE- UNDER; WITH A SAVING CLAUSE, AND A CLAUSE REPEALING ONFLICTING LAWS AND DECLARING AN MIERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Section I That portion of R.M. Highway 2338 in the City of Ge' Irgetown is here- by zoned for traffic upon said highway and the maxinim rate of speed for each zone is fixed as follows: R.M. Highway 2338 West Bound Traffic From Near U.S. 81 (Station 815=51.2) westerly for a distance of 0.296 mile to Station 799=87.2 35 mph From Station 799=87.2 westerly for a distance of 0.2 mile to Station 789=31.2 45 mph From Station 789=31.2 westerly for a distance of 0.352 mile to Georgetown West City Limit at Station 765=44.7 50 mph Mi. Highway 2338 East Bound Traffic From Georgetown West City Limit (Station 765=44.7) easterly for a distance of 0.352 mile to Station 784=03.3 55 mph Prom Station 784=03.3 easterly for a distance of 0.300 mile to Station 799=87.4 40 mph From Station 799=87.4 easterly 0.296 mile to near U.S. 81 (Station 815=51.2) 35 mph That the maximum rate of speed for motor vehicles upn each of the remaining streets of the City of Georgetown shall re i in at the rate of speed fixed by other existing city ordinances. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances that are conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. 481, That the fact that prompt action Should be taken in the regulation of traffic, on the streets of this City, in the manner,provided for in this ordinance creates an emergency requiring that the rules that provide that an ordinance shall be read at three separate meetings of the City Council before final passage; be suspended, and that the said rules are hereby suspended ' and this ordinance is here and now passe and.that it is ordered that it take effect from and after its passage and publication. Claud Eads, City Secretary, City of Georgetown, Texas HOUSING IVUTHORITY SITE DESCRIPTION project Tex -264-1 Georgetown, Texas Site A is a rectangular site having its northwest corner and the point of be- ginning located on the south ROW line of West 17tb Street and approximately 320 feet east of the east ROW line of Candee Street; thence, continuing along the south ROW 6f West 17th Street approximately 730 feet to a point; thence, in a southerly direction approximately 500 feet to a point; thence in a westerly direction approximately 730 feet to a p;4nt; thence, in a northerly direction approximately 500 feet to the point of beginning. The site con- sists of 8.3 acres more or less. Site B has its point of beginning at the intersection of the south ROW line of �EasT 17th Street and the cast ROW line of Pine Street: thence in an easterly direction along the south ROW line of East l7th Street approximate- ly 240 feet to the western railroad ROW of an MK&T spur track; thence, along the curvature of the MMT spur track in a�.­southwesterly direction approximately 838 feet to the intersection with the cast ROW line of Walnut Street; thence, in as northwesterly d(irection along the east ROW line of Wal- nut Street approximately 225 feet to a point; thence in a northeasterly direction approximately 100 feet to a point; thence in as northwesterly direction approximately 150 feet to the intersection with the south ROW line of east 18th Street; thence, along the South ROW line of East 18th Street to the intersection with the east ROW line of Pine Street approximately 220 feet; thence in as northerly direction,approximately 260 feet along the east ROW line of Pine Street to the intersection with the south ROW line of East 17th Street and the point of beginning. The site consists of 2.89 acres more or less. Site C is a rectangular site with the point of beginning being at the inter- section of the south ROW line of west 16th Street and the West ROW line of Hart Street; thence, in a westerly direction along the south ROW line of
