A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS ("GEORGETOWN") RELEASING
APPROXIMATELY 10 ACRES OF LAND FROM THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN'S EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION ("ETJ"),
SAID LAND IDENTIFIED BY THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY APPRAISAL
DISTRICT AS PARCEL R039067 AND BEING LOCALLY KNOWN AS
2450 COUNTY ROAD 152, GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY,
TEXAS, RESULTING IN A REDUCTION OF GEORGETOWN'S ETJ;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 22, 2025, the City of Georgetown, Texas, received a petition requesting
release from its ETJ of an approximately 10 acre tract of land in the John Berry Survey (the "Petition"),
a true and correct copy of such Petition being attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein
by reference; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Subchapter D of Chapter 42 of Local Government Code, landowners or
residents may submit a petition seeking release of an area of land from the City's ETJ; and
WHEREAS, the City Secretary has reviewed the Petition and confirmed that it meets the
requirements of Subchapter D of Chapter 42 of the Local Government Code and the petition
requirements of Chapter 277 of the Election Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ("City Council"), does hereby
find that the forgoing recitals are true and correct and adopts the recitals by this reference for all
purposes.
SECTION 2. To the extent required by state law, the City Council does hereby adjust the
boundaries and limits of the ETJ of the City of Georgetown, Texas, such that the ETJ of the City
of Georgetown, Texas, shall be and is hereby adjusted to release and remove the Area subject to
the Petition, as such Area is more particularly described and depicted in Exhibit B attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference, from the ETJ of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
SECTION 3. The City Council is not consenting to this reduction of its ETJ except as required
by state law.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.

This letter is submitted under SB2038 in order to file a petition with the City of Georgetown, TX
requesting the 10 acre tract R039067 located at 2450 County Road 152, Georgetown, TX be released
from the Georgetown, TX extraterritorial jurisdiction (see attached Maps and description for property
R039067). The property is owned and occupied by Jerry and Lisa Burkett (see attached 2025 WCAD
Property Details). Owners are the only voters registered at this address, (see attached voter registration
cards).

Being 10.00 acres of land located in the John Berry Survey, Abstract No. 51, Williamson County,
Texas, being out of and part of that certain 29.01 acres conveyed to Frank W. Hauser, et ux, in
deed recorded in Volume 633, Page 388, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, and being
more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a %2" iron rod found for the northeast corner of the said 29.01 acres, being the
northeast comer of the herein described tract, being in the south line of County Road 152, and
being the northwest corner of that certain 3.00 acres conveyed to Frank W. Hauser, et ux, in deed
recorded in Volume 633, Page 388, D.R.W.C.;
THENCE, S 18°54'00" E, a distance of 1140.49 feet to a %s" iron rod found for the southeast
comer of said 29.01 acres, the southeast corner of the herein described tract, being the southwest
corner of that certain 32.02 acres, the northwest corner of that certain 56.770 acres, and the

Via Email.
The City of Georgetown ("City") received a petition for release on December 27, 2024, requesting release of the
property identified as an approximately 10 acre tract of land located in the John Berry Survey, being the same property
identified as R039067 with the Williamson County Appraisal District (the "Area') from the City s extraterritorial
jurisdiction ("ETJ"). The City Secretary has reviewed your petition for compliance with State law requirements and
determined that it does not comply with the following requirements:
❑The submitted petition has not been submitted by a resident of the Area or the majority of landowner(s) of the
Area. (Section 42.102 of the Texas Local Government Code).
®The submitted petition does not include a legal description of the Area by either metes or bounds description
or by Lot and Block, if there is a recorded map or plat. (Section 42.104 of the Texas Local Government Code).
❑The submitted petition does not include a map of the Area. (Section 42.104 of the Texas Local Government
Code).
❑The submitted petition does not include signatures from either 50% of the registered voters of the Area or the
majority value land title holders in the Area described by the petition, as indicated by the tax rolls of the applicable
central appraisal district. (Section 42.104 of the Texas Local Government Code).
❑The submitted petition does not comply with Chapter 277 of the Elections Code (Section 42,103) as follows:
❑Signature is not written in signer s handwriting
❑Does not include signer's printed name
❑Does not include either signer's voter registration number or date of birth
❑Does not include signer's residence address
❑Does not include date of signature
OAII signatures were not obtained within 180 days of the first signature collected.
Because the petition does not meet the requirements of state law, and/or the City does not have sufficient information
to determine whether the petition meets the requirements of state law, a valid petition has not been filed, and the City
will take no further action on this petition. Asa reminder all petitions for release from the City's ETJ maybe submitted
to the City Secretary either in person between 8 am and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at City
Hall or by mail to 808 Martin Luther King, Jr. Street, Georgetown, TX 78626. Updated petitions will be reviewed in
the same manner as any other petition.
