The City Council of the City of Georgetown met
in Special Session on the above date at 5:00 M
with Mayor Jim Colbert presiding. The following
council members and officials were present:
Council Member Eb C. Girvin, Council Member Joan
King, Council Member Marvin E. Lackey, Council
Member Bill Connor, Council Member William C.
Shell, City Secretary Pat Caballero, City
Manager R. Bob Gaylor, Director of Public Works
Allyn Moore, and Development and Planning
Director Ed Barry.
1. ANNEXATION STUDY WORKSHOP
The council held a annexation study workshop.
2. RESOLUTION - EXTENSION OF UTILITIES
Motion by Lackey and Second by Shell to adopt
the following resolution. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, CITING THE NEED FOR
CONSISTENT APPLICATION OF POLICY FOR THE
EXTENSION OF CITY WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES;
CITING THE NEED FOR SUCH POLICY TO BE SET FORTH
IN WRITING AND ADOPTING SUCH A WRITTEN STATEMENT
OF POLICY FOR THE EXTENSION OF CITY WATER AND
WASTEWATER SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas acknowledges the need for
consistent application of City policy regarding
the extension of water and wastewater services
in order to promote orderly urban development,
to make efficient use of the City's fiscal
resources, and to ensure sufficient water and
wastewater services for the protection of public
health, safety and welfare; and
Whereas, the City Council recognizes the need
for such policy to be set forth in writing for
the use of all citizens and the City's boards,
commissions, council and staff,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas that

the statement titled "Policy of the extension of
City of Georgetown Water and Wastewater Services
and [a copy of which is filed in the office of
the city secretary], is approved and adopted as
the policy of the City of Georgetown for such
utility extensions and shall be consistently
applied by the City until such time as it may be
amended by resolution of the City Council.
Read, passed and approved this 24th day of
September, 1986.
ADJOURN Motion by Connor and second by Shell to Adjourn.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
