July I29 1937.
On the above date the City Council met in regular session,
Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers
were present: Aldermen;
F: Be Buchholz,
J. R. Chastain,
J. C. Go:dbey,
S.E. Wilcox,
Absent: 7T. S. Frasier, account of illness.
Officers: w. H. Nunn, city attorney; Albert May, marshal;
M. L. Cates, secr.etary,Lott 3. Rogers., newly appointed ass.e..sso.r and
collector, who was duly sworn into.the office, succeding-the. late
Sam A. Hodges., deceased; and Mr. R. Be Ward, manager city utilities.
On motion of Alderman Chastain.minutes of the previous
regular and one called session of the council were approved as
read.
On montion of Alderman Buchholz. the approved bills .and
accounts were ordered paid.
The following resolution was -offered through ordinance
committeeman J. C. Godbey was read, and motion made by him for its
adoptions The -motion
"Resolution, authorizing the Mayor.of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, to execute a release of Judgment of the City of Georgetown vs.
C. L. Mercer, in consideration of a Bill of.. Sale from said C. L.
Mercer, to property described in judgment:"
"Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of -George-
town, Texas:
"That the City accept the proposition of C. L. Yereer, that
he bill of sale to the City of Georgeteezn the property mortgaged by
said C. L. ?,Tarcer to the city which property is described in Judg-
ment in favor of the said city and against the said C. L. Yarcer, in
the County Court of ',illiamson County, ^exas, in consideration of
the release of said judgment and of the —ater and Light Indebtedness
Due by said fiercer to the said City be accepted, and the Mayor of
said city is hereby authorized and directed to execute proper release
when said C. L. Mercer shall have complied with said proposition.

The motion for the passage of the above resolution was seconded
by Alderman J. R. Chastain, and was carried unanimously.
There occuring no further business., the Council adjourned.
