The City Council M6t in regular montly session on the above
date with Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen.and C
officerd being present: Aldermen--F. E. Buchholz, J.R. dhastain,
3amC=".Gi3dbeyxand Sam E. Wilcox, Aldeman T. S. Frasier, being
absent on account of illness. Officers--X. H. Nunn, city attorney;
Lott B. Rogers, assessor and collector; R. E. T?ard, Manager of
Utilities; Albert May, city marshal and P.T. L. Cates, secretary.
On motion of Alderman Chastaan the minutes of the previous
meeting were approved asread.
On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey all approved accounts
were ordered paid.
On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain Foreman Max Sansom
was allowed the usual amdunt of $2.50 per day for seven days'
vacation.
Mayor Smith stated that a request had been made that
the old road leading to the Mexican cemetery west of George-
town be closed and a new.road be opened through the city
property adjoining thencemetery. Also that the subject of
leasing the property was discussed. On motion of Alderman
J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman Chastain, authority was
given the Mayor to close negotiations favorably to all
concerned.i.

On mtoion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, Seconded by Alderman_
S. E. 7Filcox, Mayor Smith was authoized to secure a loan of
$2,000.00 to be placed tot the credit of the General Fund, by
unanimous vote of the Council.
Assessor and Collextor Lott B. Rogers presented the
usual bond of,office, secured by himself as principal,
Mrs, Lott B, Rogers, Robert L. Cooper, Dr. H. L. Patterson and
H. N. Graves. On motion 6f dldernan.J. C. Godbey, Seconded by
Alderman S. E. Tilcox, the bond was approved.
On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, seconded by Alder-
man F. E. Buchholz, the following taxes wereb charged -to Tax
Collector Lott B. Rogers:

On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman
J. R. Chastain, the City Attorney was inst.r.ucl.td to institute
suit against delinquent taxpayers.
