HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 12.14.1397 CC-R34 01 0-3 Georgetown, Texas December I4, I937 The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor IvT. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers being present: Aldermen--F. E. Buchholz, J. R._ Chastain, J. C. Godbey and S. E. Wilcox. Officers: Lott B. Rogers, Assessor and Collector; Albert May, Marshal; Id. L. Cates, secretary, and R. E. '.'lard city manager of utilities. On motion of 7. E. Buchholz minutes of the reggular and adjourned regular meetins were approved as read. On motion of Alderman Chastain all approved ace-unts were ordered paid. Reports of officers Albert Iay, marshal; TTiss Estella Byrom, treasurer and Lott �, Rogers, assessor and collector were read and on motion of Alderman Godbey were ordered filed. On motion of Alderman J. 71. Chastain, seconded by Alderman J. C. Godbey notes held by the _ !+'irst National Bank against the City of Georgetown were requested renev+.a.l and the Mayor was authorized to renew the same. Alderman Chastain moved ths:k the Council approve the payment of $50.00 interest due on Electric Light Bonds Dec. Ist, and issued order for the payment of interest due om the following Bonds On Jan- uary Ist I938 , and also -ordered payment of Bonds Nos. 34-35-36 of $500.00 each be paid on January Ist I938: Int. on -Paving Bonds No. 34-90 inclusive, I2.50. Int, amounting to $C12150. The Iotion was seconded by Alderman S. E. Wilcox and was approved by unanimous vote of the Council. Mayor Smith appointed the following to draw resolutions on the death of Councilman IT. S. Frasier: J. C. Godbey and S. E. a Wilcox. Alderman J. C. Godbey made a motion that the Council re-employ Mr. R. F. '.'lard as manager of the city utilities for. another term at the same salary heretofore paid. Alderman S. E. Wilcox seconded the motion and the same was carried by unani- mous vote of the Council. Mayor Smith read the Citation issued against_ -the City of Georgetown, in suit for damages brought by B. Tr. McLaughlin, el al., on account of the death of his son B. M. McLaughlin, Jr., from Typhoid. After discussion Mayor J. C. Godbey made a motion seconded by Alderman h. E.
