Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6® 0 (This Regular Session may, at anytime, be recessed to convene at Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551). Members Present: Ned Atkins, Bart Bartleso , Anna Eby, Keith Fruge; Nika Hazen, Laura Klein Plunkett; Sarah Vigil Members Absent: None Staff Present: April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison), Chris Masters, Animal Control Officer Meeting called to order at 6:05 PM a Presentation of Animal Control statistics and trends for April, 19— April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison) and Chris Masters, Animal Control Officer a ACO Masters explained various types of calls received from citizens and field procedures involved. b. Increase in ACO calls possibly due to increasedoutreach/community involvement with ACOs during park andneighborhood patrol. c. Animal follow-up, barking dog, dog -at -large, wildlife nuisance highest percentage of calls. m Presentation of Animal Services Statistical and Analytical Report for April 1—April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison) a. 7 no-shows resulted in only 17 at spay/neuter clinic b. Euthanasia 3.6% c. Adoptions 20.5% ; 2 adoption events held d. Arranged a standing appointment at AHS for rescue evaluation and transfer. 3m Presentation of upcoming adoption and community events for May 2019 — April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison) a. Events planned include a fundraiser at Panda Express and two adoption events. . Presentation of April fundraising Results — Nika Hazen, Board Chair a. Held successful fundraiser at Rentsch Brewery with basket raffles, donations, and Rentsch per -beer contribution. Could be an annual event. 5 Discussion on updates to proposed facilities and ITprojects—April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison) a. Security camera P.O. is done. b. May have electrical problem necessitating larger electrical panel. c Awaiting; finalization of volunteer management software purchase. d. Shade cloth for kennels purchased. e. Additional ACO position requires purchase of new desk. Truck is being outfitted. . Review of current staffing levels —Nika Hazen, Board Chair a. ACO positions are now fully staffed. b. Ready to finalize hire of 2 part-time receptionist positions. 7 Presentation of annual state required veterinarian inspection — April Haughey, Animal Services Manager (Board Liaison) a. Inspection complete; no surprises. Highlighted chipped epoxy floors/walls which are being addressed. 8. Public wishing to address the Board a. As of the time of posting, no person had signed up to address the board. . Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from Aril, 19—Nika Hazen, Board Chair a Minutes reviewed by all present; no corrections noted. Motion to accept minutes as submitted, Anna Eby; seconded Keith Fruge. Approved unanimously. With no further business or discussion, Keith Fruge made a motion to adjourn. Anna Eby seconded.
