Meeting Minutes
December 9, 2021
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met in person Thursday, December 9, 2021.
Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6:00 pm.
(This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene at Executive Session for any purpose authorized
by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551).

Meeting called to order at 6:04 PM by Melissa Sheldon
. Introduction of and presentation by Shelby Bobosky of the 'Texas Humane Legislative Network —
Louise Epstein and Shelby Bobosky
a. Louise introduced Shelby. Shelby gave the Board an overview of the legislative process, the humane
legislation presented during the last Texas legislative session, and the priorities for the next session.
2. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from ctobe 21— Melissa Sheldon, Board
Chair
a. Board members signified that they had read the minutes and had no corrections. Motion to approve
the minutes for October as presented, Ned Atkins. Seconded, Amanda Parr. Motion passed unani-
mously.
3. Discussion and possible direction regarding proposed ordinance changes regarding Title 7 Animals
and Chapter 6.25 relating to horse drawn carriages in the Code of Ordinances April Haughey, Ani-
mal Services Manager (Board Liaison)
a. April led the Board in review, consideration, and discussion, of possible ordinance changes/addi-
tions, including ordinances covering commercial use of horse drawn carriages, dyeing of animals,
and transporting animals in open -bed vehicles. April will compile the recommendations for the
Board to review at an upcoming meeting.
With no further business or discussion, Ned Atkins made a motion to adjourn. Motion was seconded by Louise
Epstein, and approved by all.
