City of Georgetown., Thursday,, January 11,, 2024 The Georgetown Animal ShelterAdvisory Board met on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM at City Hall Community Room, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX 78626. The following Members were in attendance: Present were: Laura Klein Plunkett, Ned Atkins, April Haughey, Amanda Parr This regularly scheduled meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory Board is canceled due to a lack of quorum. 1.A Minutes Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from November 2023 - Amanda Parr, Board Chair A correction was made to Item 1-D Moved by Laura Klein Plunkett; seconded by Ned Atkins to Approve Motion to approve with the noted correction to item 1 D.. Motion Approved: 4- 0 Voting For: Laura Klein Plunkett, Ned Atkins, April Haughey, Amanda Parr Voting Against: None Moved by Laura Klein Plunkett; seconded by Ned Atkins to Approve Motion to approve minutes from Nov 2023. Motion Approved with amendment: 4- 0 Voting For: Laura Klein Plunkett, Ned Atkins, April Haughey, Amanda Parr Voting Against: None Presentation of Animal Services Statistics for December 2023 - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager a. Intake was 129, with 67 dogs and 62 cats b. Surrenders 21, at 20% of intakes. c. LRR was 97%, with 88 adopted and 20 RTO. d. Kennel capacity for dogs and cats trending lower than last year. e. ACO responses 328, higher than LY due to full staffing. f. One humane investigation successfully prosecuted. 1.0 Annual Inspection Presentation and discussion of annual Inspection for Animal Shelter, Impoundment, and Rabies Quarantine Facilities - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager The shelter passed inspection with comments consistent with those of previous years. 1.D Friends of the Georgetown Animal Shelter Presentation and discussion on the status of the Friends of the Georgetown Animal Shelter - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager The FOGAS board voted to dissolve the organization and distribute their remaining funds to Shadow Cats and Living Grace Canine Ranch. Potential Partnership with WCRAS Discussion of current status of the exploration of a partnership between the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager, and Jack Daly, Assistant Director of Public Works The City and the Regional Shelter continue working on a path to a potential merger. The next steps include drafting an agreement for a memorandum of understanding. ~`Please fill out a speaker registration form which can be found on the table at the entrance to the meeting room. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item on which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a speaker may be granted. The requestor granting time to another speaker must also submit a form and be present at the meeting. A request must be received by the Advisory Board or Commission Liaisor prior to the day the agenda for this meeting is posted. Each speaker will be given three minutes to address the Board or Commission members. No action can be taken. Public At the time of posting, no persons had signed up to address the board.
