The Georgetown Animal Shelter Advisory Board met on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM at City Hall
Community Room, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX 78626.
The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you

Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from January 2024 - Amanda
Parr, Board Chair
Moved by Chad A Harris; seconded by Laura Klein Plunkett to Approve Motion to
approve minutes.

1.13 Statistics
Presentation of Animal Services Statistics for FY 2024, Q3 - April Haughey, Animal
Services Manager
• Highlights
a. Dog population peaked in March.
b. LOS average 12.55 days overall
c. LRR for June 98.8%, 95.7% YTD.
d. Intake of 114 cats in June due to kitten season.
1.0 Annual Veterinarian Inspection
Presentation and discussion of annual veterinarian inspection for Animal Shelter,
Impoundment, and Rabies Quarantine Facilities - April Haughey, Animal Services
Manager
The shelter passed inspection with a note that portions of the shelter floor were in
need of restoration.
1.D Volunteer Transition
Discussion of the transition plan for City of Georgetown volunteers due to the potential
partnership with the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter - April Haughey,
Animal Services Manager
The shelter is coordinating with the Wilco shelter to hold a Q&A session with
Georgetown shelter volunteers to address transition questions.
1.E Staffing Update
Discussion of current staffing status and potential impacts to operations -April
Haughey, Animal Services Manager
a. One key staff member was hired into a position with another City department. Her
duties are being distributed to other staff and volunteers on an as -needed basis.
b. Most adoption events canceled.
c. Due to attrition only critical positions are being staffed.
1.F Potential Partnership withWCRAS
Discussion of current status of the exploration of a partnership between the City of
Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter - April
Haughey, Animal Services Manager, and Jack Daly, Assistant Director of Public Works
a. The City and WCRAS have drafted a memorandum of understanding.
b. An interlocal agreement and a joint use agreement are required.
c. Target date of October 1. Probable WCRAS lease agreement for Georgetown facility
use until WCRAS expansion complete.
On a Please fill out a speaker registration form which can be found on the
table at the entrance to the meeting room. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item on which you wish
to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak
when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting
being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for
six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a
speaker may be granted. The requester granting time to another speaker must also submit a form and be present
at the meeting.
A request must be received by the Advisory Board or Commission Liaisor
prior to the day the agenda for this meeting is posted. Each speaker will be given three minutes to address the
Board or Commission members. No action can be taken.
