HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_ANSAB_9.19.2024Minutes of the Animal Shelter Advisory Board City of Georgetown, Texas September 19, 2024 The Georgetown Animal Shelter Advisory Board will meet on September 19, 2024 at 6:00 PM at City Hall Community Room, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX 78626. The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The following Members were in attendance: Present were: Chad A. Harris, April Haughey, Laura Klein Plunkett, Amanda Parr Also present: Jack Daly, William Gregory via Zoom. 1. Regular Session 1.A Minutes Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from July 2024 - Amanda Parr, Board Chair Moved by Laura Klein Plunkett; seconded by Chad A. Harris to approve motion to approve minutes. Motion: Approved: 4-0 Voting For: Chad A. Harris, April Haughey, Laura Klein Plunkett, Amanda Parr Voting Against: None 1.B Statistics Presentation of Animal Services Statistics for August 2024 - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager •Highlights a.Seasonal decrease in dog intake; cat intake remains higher due to extended kitten season b.LRR 90.7% due primarily to cat illness; also includes 3 rabies euthanasias c.108 adoptions in July 1.C Staffing Update Discussion of current staffing status and potential impacts to operations - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager a.Three potential temporary new hires b.ACO is reporting to GPD 1.D Potential Partnership with WCRAS Discussion of current status of the exploration of a partnership between the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter - April Haughey, Animal Services Manager The WCRAS partnership is moving forward but much is left to do. The 10/1 target implementation date will not be met. The board established the next Advisory Board meeting date for January 9, 2025 contingent on partnership progress. Public Wishing to Address the Board On a subject that is posted on this agenda: Please fill out a speaker registration form which can be found on the table at the entrance to the meeting room. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item on which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor’s granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a speaker may be granted. The requestor granting time to another speaker must also submit a form and be present at the meeting. On a subject not posted on the agenda: A request must be received by the Advisory Board or Commission Liaison prior to the day the agenda for this meeting is posted. Each speaker will be given three minutes to address the Board or Commission members. No action can be taken. Public Comments At the time of posting, no persons had signed up to address the board.
