Discussion on how this virtual conference will be conducted, to include options for public comments and how the public may address the Commission — Carl Miller, Tourism Manager 3. Discussion and possible action regarding the approval of the January 14, 2020 minutes - Karen Soefjker, CVB Board Chair Approved 5-0 (Blanck abstained -was not in attendance; Cummins arrived at the virtual meeting following �WIHIIIJIIIIRI Motion by Blanck, second by Wilson to approve the grant for a maximum reimbursement of $2,500. Approved 6-0 (Triplet abstained) 5. Discussion and possible action to approve Hotel Conference and Meeting Grants for the VFW Officers Training (July 6-11, 202 1; July 12-17, 2022; and July 4-10, 2023). - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager no - Motion by Blanck, second by Fisher to approve the July 2021 grant for a maximum reimbursement of $2,500. Approved 6-0 (Triplet abstained) Motion by Orozco, second by Wilson to approve the July 2022 grant for a maximum reimbursement of $2,500. Approved 6-0 (Triplet abstained) Motion by Fisher, second by Orozco to approve the July 2023 grant for a maximum reimbursement of $2,500. Approved 6-0 (Triplet abstained) 6. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of upcoming events - Car i Miller, Tourism Manager Miller briefed the Board on the following items: • Visitors Center front fagade has been repainted and refreshed. • CVB partnered with the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association to host a Contemporary Issues on Hotel Law Webinar for our lodging partners. Four attended. • City staff will present to City Council on Tuesday, April 27 regarding short term rentals (STR's) in Georgetown. Currently 36 STR's are paying hotel occupancy tax. • Due to the 2021 Red Poppy Festival being rescheduled to October I — 3, Helen Faythe Green's winning art will be featured on the 2022 Red Poppy Festival Poster. • USTA will host the Texas Youth Slam Tennis Tournament in Georgetown on June 18 — 26.
