The mission of the Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau is to increase the economic impact on
Georgetown by promoting the community as a tourist and meeting destination.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Blake Triplett, Jim Wilson, Rachel Cummins,
MEMBERS ABSENT: Christy Fisher, Karen Soeffker, Daniel Orozco

2. Discussion on how this virtual conference will be conducted, to include options for public
comments and how the public may address the Commission — Cari Miller, Tourism Manager
3. Discussion and possible action regarding the approval of the March 11, 2021 minutes- Jim
Wilson, CV8 Board Vice -Chair
Motion by Triplet, second by Cummins to approve the March 11, 2021 minutes.
Approved 4-0
4. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for
the application and requested a $3,000 grant. Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, the 2021
Festival will be virtual. Williamson informed the Board that the event will provide unique
and high -quality free live -streamed performances. The Festival Representatives are hoping
that the free "gift" will grow awareness and build attendance for 2022. Williamson also
indicated that the Festival has obtained a grant through the Georgetown Arts and Culture
Board as well as the Texas Commission on the Arts.

nights which is a requirement for grant funding from hotel occupancy tax. After much
discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Wilson, second by Cummins to deny the grant application due to the event being
virtual and a minimum number of hotel room nights expected.
Approved 4-0
5. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement Grant for
the UIL State Soccer Tournament (April 16-17, 2021) - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager with
Representative Tim Peters
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Booster Club has been unable to raise money to fund
the U.I.L. official's hospitality room. Whereas the tournament was a 3-day event in the past,
it will be a 2-day event this year. The Booster Club will meet with the coaches who will be
involved in the playoffs to determine where the out-of-town teams will be staying. Due to the
pandemic, each player will have their own room, so it is anticipated that a high number of
rooms in Georgetown will be booked for not only players but officials, family members,
fans, etc. After discussion, the following motion was made.
Motion by Blanck, second by Triplett to approve the Hotel Occupancy Tax Reimbursement
Grant for $2500.00.

6. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Conference and Meeting Grant for the Air
Methods SLT Quarterly Meeting (September 20-22, 2021) - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager

present.
