MEMBERS PRESENT: Stephanie Blanck, Rachel Cummins, Karen Soeffker, Blake Triplet, Jim Wilson, MEMBERS ABSENT: Christy Fisher, Daniel Orozco STAFF PRESENT: Cari Miller, CVB Tourism Manager; Trish Long, Facilities Manager GUEST: None 2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the June 10, 2021 meeting minutes - are Soeffker, CV B Board Chair MAL Approved 5-0 3. Discussion and possible action to recommend contracting with DecorlQ for the leasing, installation, and maintenance of the 2021 holiday lights, the installation and maintenances of the building cornice lights, and the installation and removal of the holiday wreaths and tree in rf#t-th Long, Facilities Manager The contract was reviewed and discussed. This company has been doing the lights since 2015 and $90,170.71 will be coming from the CVB Budget. Ell 4. UIL State Soccer Tournament Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Follow -Up Report Presentation - Carl Miller, CVB Tourism Manager 5. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Conference and Meeting Grant for the Texas Association of Physical Plant Administration (April 5-10, 2024) - Cari Miller, CVB Tourism Manager Based upon the number of room nights projected at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center the group is eligible for up to $2,500. Grant funds will be used to offset a portion of the expenses of the conference. Motion by Cummins, second by Wilson to approve the grant application for a maximum reimbursement of $2,500.00. Approved 4-0 (Triplet abstained) 6. Discussion and possible action to approve a Hotel Conference and Meeting Grant for the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center (December 1-3, 202 1) - Cari Miller, CVB Tourism Manager Based upon the number of room nights projected at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center the group is eligible for up to $1809.99. Grant funds will be used provide transportation to overflow hotels. Motion by Blank, second by Wilson to approve the grant application for a maximum reimbursement of $1,800.00 Approved 4-0 (Triplet abstained) 7. Staff Report - Cari Miller, Tourism Manager 0 Hotel occupancy tax revenue is returning to pre-COVID numbers. The May 2021 I- t 1-- T-V La vwen-u veeA d-t-11-11 UV/ • It was noted that several Texas CVB's are offering up to $10,000 as an incentive to recruit conferences. Due to this incentive, the Sheraton recently lost a conference bid.
