Introduction of Sheri Miklaski- Community Outreach Librarian. —Eric Lashley, Library Director. Miklaski introduced herself to the board. She recently returned to Georgetown Public Library after working the past 4 years at the Anacortes Public Library in Anacortes, WA. Miklaski is only in her second week on the job, but has already made a number of bookmobile runs with Kalena Powell and has been meeting volunteers on a one-on-one basis. No action required. D. Consideration of the Library Director's report. — Eric Lashley, Library Director. Lashley reviewed the monthly statistics, noting that both visitations and circulation were high for the month of November despite the library being closed 5 days for inventory and new flooring installation. The library received a shipment of new task chairs and 6 club chairs for the magazine area. The City budgets an amount of money each year to allow for furniture replacement and panting, which is how the new furniture purchase was funded. Library Assistant and Storytime leader Jaime Gould was named Employee of the Year at the City's annual employee recognition luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center. Lashley announced that the board will depart from the library at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13 for a tour of the new Austin Central Library and Twin Oaks Branch Library. Lashley read patron comments from the library's suggestion box for November 2017. No action required. E. Review of the Library's fiscal year 2018 budget. — Eric Lashley, Library Director. Lashley handed out a summary of the library's $2.5 million budget (attached). Lashley outlined the personnel, operations, and capital expenses. He briefly discussed revenues and noted that the library is fortunate to have the Friends of the Library organization to help pay for unbudgeted programs and expenses. No action required. F. Review of Community Resource Coordinator's report — Eric Lashley, Library Director. Lashley reviewed the monthly report from Patrick Lloyd (attached). As the report indicates, Lloyd is seeing a wide variety of patrons in need and it is clear there are often limited services available in Georgetown. No action required. G. Review of WOW!mobile report. - Eric Lashley, Library Director. Lashley handed out Kalena Powell's monthly report (attached). Miklaski noted she and Powell had met with a representative of the Berry Creek Community Association and are now planning to add two stops in Berry Creek. The first stop will target senior residents, while the second stop will be located at the tennis courts/pool area and will serve children. Miklaski also reported that our homebound patronage has increased to over 60 individuals. Hudson asked if volunteers could be used to assist with the homebound service. Both Lashley and Miklaski agreed the library could use volunteers to assist with the program. Barnes asked how a neighborhood can request bookmobile service. Lashley explained that a neighborhood can make a request to Miklaski or Powell. Powell is constantly conducting a cost benefit analysis on the feasibility of stops. No action required. H. Review of library's CommunitySy responses to open ended questions as part of the strategic planning process. — Eric Lashley, Library Director. Lashley passed out responses to two of the open ended questions from the community survey (attached), and reviewed some of the critical comments in more detail. After much discussion, it was clear the overwhelming response to the survey was positive. No action required. Consideration of future meeting dates. — Pete Rose, Board Chair. The January meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. No action required. Chair Rose adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Pat Baldwin Secretary f( tti t, pf Pete Rose Chair 11--08-2077 09 47 AM C 1 1' Y < F G E O I G E '1' 0 W N PAGE: 2 i81 NOV O V 217 I'I NANCIAL STATEMENT (UNAUDITED) 100-GENERAL FUND AS OF: NOVEMBER .30TH, 2017 DOWNTOWN & COMMUNITY SVC PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNUAL CURRENT Y-T-D Y, OF Y-'P-D BUDGET EXPENSES BUDGET PERIOD ACTUAL BUDGET ENCUMB, BALANCE PERSONNEL 5-0210-50•-1.00 SALARIES 1,024,899.00 37,296.81 112,1.36.57 1.0.94 0.00 912,762.43 5-0210-50-101 MERIT 31,739.00 0.00 0.00 0,00 0.00 1.1, 739,00 5-0210-50-103 MARKET 9,437.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0,00 9,417.00 5-0210-50-105 PART TIME SALARIES 66,050.00 2,054.00 5,99'1.48 9.08 0.00 60,052.52 5-021.0-50-1.09 TEMPORARY PART TIME 46, 450.00 2,919.07 8, 92.1.8'7 19.21 0.00 37, 528.13 5-0210-50•200 TAXES, SOCIAL SECURITY 88,808.00 3,138.5.7 9,949.90 1.0.64 0.00 79,358.10 '5-0210-50-201 WORKERS' COMP 1,311,00 0.00 0.00 0,00 0.00 1, 311.00 5-0210-50-202 STATE UNEMPLOYMENT TAX 1,186,00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 1,186.00 5-0210-50-300 GROUP INSURANCE 176,223.00 6,961.68 20,885.04 11.85 0.00 155,337.96 5-0210-50-301 RETIREMENT 128,727.00 4,'713.69 14,1.9'7.19 11- 03 0.00 114,52.9.81 5-0210--50-303 CERTIFICATION PAY 2,'700.00 69,2.4 207.72 '1,69 0.00 2,492.28 5-0210-50-400 LONGEVITY 25,836, 00 _ , 0.00 ____ 200.67 _ 0.78 __. -__ 0.00 TOTAL PERSONNEL 7.,603,366.00 57,153.06 171,996,44 10.73 0.00 1,431,369.56 OPERATIONS 5 -0210-51-110 OFFICE SUPPLIES 10,700.00 53.04 2,348,13 2.3.30 145.04 8,206.83 5-0210-51-11.2 PERIODICAL SUPPLIES 1.5,034.00 0.00 11,343.54 75.45 0.00 3,690.46 5-021.0-51-12.5 SUPPLIES - 13O0K BINDING 3,250,00 0.00 0.00 100.00 3,250.00 0.00 5-0210-51-142 SUPPLIES, LIBRARY 25,200,00 0.00 2,093.38 62.72 13,710.95 9,395.0 5-0210-51-1,43 PROGRAMMING 17,500.00 0,00 105.00 0.60 0.00 1-7,395.00 5-0210-51-150 POSTAGE/MAILING/FREIGHT 3, 500.00 0.00 2.84,58 8.13 0.00 3, 215A 2 5-0210-51-349 ONE TIME PROGRAMS 3,000.00 0.00 678.00 22.60 0,00 2,322,00 5-0210-51-350 COFFEE SHOP TAXES 3,000.00 0.00 2,91.8.85 97,30 0.00 81.15 5-0210-51-410 TELEPHONE 2,000.00 25.00 75.00 3.75 0.00 1,925.00 5-0210-51-430 UTILITIES 130,000,00 0.00 8,418,25 6.48 0.00 121,581,75 5.0210-51--500 MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT 2,000.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 1,000.00 5-0210-51 620 FUEL/MILEAGE 4,000.00 0.00 191.63 4.79 0.00 31808.37 5-0210-51-630 TRAVEL & TRAINING 16,406.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 16,406.00 1i-02. 10--51-'710 SUBSCRIPTIONS & DUES 6, 475.00 0.00 300.00 4.63 0.00 61 1'75.00 5-021.0-51-810 REFUNDS, JUDGMENTS, DAMAGE 2.50.00 0.3( 4.82) 1.93- 0.00 254.82 5-0210-51-910 VEHICLE LEASE 13.,185.UO 0.00 932.00 8.33 0.00 10,253.00 5-0210-51-911 VEHICLE MAINTENANCE 3,'765.00 0.00 314.00 8,34 0.00 3,451.00 5-0210-51.920 BUILDING ISF 336,393.00 0.00 28,033,00 8.33 0.00 308,360.00 5 0210-51.-930 TECHNOLOGY ISF 202,618.00 0.00 16,885.00 8.33 0.00 185,733.00 TOTAL OPERA`PIONS '795,276.00 '78,34 74,915.54 11.,57 17,105.99 '703,254.47 CAPITAL (A) 5-0210-52-401 BOOKS - AUDIO & CD (A) ].0,200.00 O.UU 2,007.45 31.31, 1,186.64 '7,005.91 5-021.0-52-402. This puts GPL on pace to assess and refer 139 patrons in 2017, 65.8% of patrons interviewed in Q2 were female and 34.2% were male; this is generally consistent with the gender breakdown in previous quarters this year. Our patrons' need breakdown is below. Patron Deeds Q3 2017 -, Ernergenc=y IIousing; = Hn. Assistance Benefit As i,lkince Mental IIeaith • Physical Health 1 Ief..xal w l ucation w Other Needs included under 'other' and their frequency are listed below: • Employment — 3 • Older adult care or enrichment — 3 • Grief and loss — 2 • Transportation — 2 • Education —1 • Active domestic abuse —1 • Housing rights/advocacy —1 Q3 requests for financial assistance were the highest of 2017. Mental health and housing remain the next highest needs for our patrons, consistent with Q2. Legal need remains relatively low compared to its high in Q1 Children in the household 31.6% of patrons in need stated that there were children in the household, the highest rate of 2017. Domestic violence 10.5% of patrons in need self -identified a history of domestic violence, the lowest rate of 2017. This includes one patron actively experiencing domestic abuse. The Community Resources Coordinator does not typically ask patrons directly if they have or are experiencing domestic violence. Patrons often volunteer this information. Thus far in 2017, 18.3% of interviewees have volunteered histories of domestic violence. Veterans No patrons reported being veterans in Q3. In 2017, 5 total interviews have been conducted with veterans. Discussion GIRL was able to refer patrons to some sort of service within Georgetown in just 63.2% of interviews, up slightly from Q2 and consistent with Q1. In cases where patrons are not able to be referred locally, common referrals are to Hope Alliance (Round Rock), Safe Place (Austin), and Foundation Communities (Austin). Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid — as of September 2017 -- was not accepting new clients for pro bono legal assistance. That same month, Georgetown Gospel Justice began offering once month, free legal clinics at GPL. The CRC expects requests for financial assistance to continue to rise in Q4 as families struggle to make ends meet during the holiday season. There is also concern for the impending cold weather and the ongoing lack of nighttime shelter for patrons who are literally homeless. BERRY CREEK Starting February 2018 we will be adding Berry Creek to our regular schedule. There will be two stops, two different days of the week (one a.m., one p.m.) visiting on a biweekly schedule (1st & 3`d ). Here are the details. Berry Creek Country Club (Sheri M.) Wednesdays 10am-11am Berry Creek Tennis Club (Kalena P.) Tuesdays 4:30pm-5:30pm There is also talk of possibly adding story time or yoga time to the schedule in the future. We'll see how the first 3 months develops and we'll go from there. Eric has marketing details.... SHERI MIKLASKI We've already started making improvements in operations thanks to the insightful suggestions of our new Outreach Leader! Possible printing changes in Apollo to wowmobile reserved items and the delegation of checking out wowmobile reserves to Sun City patrons on Monday evening with free up a tremendous amount of time to let our growing Outreach Team spend their time collaborating, focusing on growing and improving services and being available in-house to stay connected to the main land. Sheri will be operating the wowmoble on the 1st and 3`d Wednesdays of the month starting January 2018. This day includes Berry Creek Country Club, The Oaks Retirement, Georgetown Charter Academy and Cypress Creek Apartments. Kalena will be at Main on Wednesdays and will provide desk coverage in addition to routine weekly wowmobile scheduling, operations and related duties. SAMUEL MILTON ANDERSON Sam was a wowmobile patron in the Algerita neighborhood for at least 5 years. He absolutely loved to read and enjoyed the escape. His taste in authors spoke to his intellect and perhaps reflected a life he used to live. We had long conversations about the works of McCarthy, Hemingway, Hesse, Faulkner and Chaucer. My fondest memory of Sam was from the Summer of 2016. We were talking about All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy which led to a conversation about a Peter Paul and Mary song called Hush o Bye (All the Pretty Little Horses) that my mother used to sing to me when I was a little girl and I sang to her in her last few hours before she passed. Sam tried to recall the lyrics to his favorite Peter Paul and Mary song, Stewboll. He was having trouble, so I googled the lyrics and read them aloud. As his recollection returned he began to recite the lyrics with me and wept aloud. He excused himself for crying to which I replied there was no need. He then looked straight at me and asked me if anyone had ever told me that I have," soulful eyes". "No, Sam. I don't believe so. Thank you." He smiled, thanked me and exited the bus. Sam backtracked a few steps, poked his head inside the door and said, "Hey, don't tell nobody that I cried" with a gentle smile on his face. I told him I wouldn't, so I suppose I'm breaking my promise. Sam passed away in September after a lengthy battle with cirrhosis of the liver and Hepatitis C from years of alcohol abuse and heroine addiction. He was found by his buddy and neighbor, Travis, who took care of Sam the last few months of his life and shared the news with Sheri and me last week. "I bet on the grey mare, I bet on the bay If I'd have bet on of Stewball, I'd be a free man today. Oh the hoot owl, she hollers, and the turtle dove moans. I'm a poor boy in trouble, I'm a long way from home." I can't think of any complaints or suggestions for improvement for the library. DO LIKE YOUR LIBRARY I enjoy cominhg to the library, its clean and large enough to feel comfortable and I love the areas you can seit and read, feel the childrens secion is lacking on It's variety of non-fiction books and few to no non-fiction zooalocical books for advanced children to study. My kid is 11 and already is bored with your assortment of non-fiction books. Though we do enjoy read dogs very much I feel very fortunate to have access to the Georgetown library. People are very helpful and the programs are excellent (especially the Sunday music events!). I would like to see literacy classes for parents/children. The library is a much better environment for families than a local bar. I really enjoy Over_drive..so_easy to access books. Great place to relax, read, or researchl I find the online book (audio/ebook) search and check out process to be very awkward and difficult to manipulate, I would like to see an interface I find this library to be most welcoming and helpful. ad an awful experience today, That all booths are for teens. 2pm to close, This is were I felt comfortable before seating & looking over paper work. But for someone over 50 there are no booths anymore. Very very y very sad. Also Melissa Mott told me there were booths upstairs. There were not. With my asthma & bad knees it was difficult to do. All dust & allergens go up. I hope this makes a difference one day, _ I have 4 children -ages 6 mo-5 yr, We love story time and the children's activities! I have always enjoyed librqaries, not just for books, but also for multiple media and technology, the defense of the 1st amendment and a window to the universe. I have been pleased to witness the library's ongoing efforts to be an active partner in our community and I am grateful for the hard work and vision of the director, the staff and the volunteers who make this happen all day, every day. I have not been in the library for a couple of years, but I go into the WOWmobile whenever it comes here. I have only been in GT three years but am very proud and pleased to have this library and its staff in my community, I h o pe, t h e------_ -- I just love our library!! I tell everone about it even folks back home in Phillyll Great ..place, activities Ind fantastic_ people who work there... wonderful environment!-! w that most teens like the horror, vampire, romance stuff. But we need more good books for those of us who do not like that. I like that you can have food, drinks and kids anywhere in the library. I wish that longer books had onger check-out times. 1 like the library, but the selection is much smaller than in Round Rock. Would like more (and more recent) media and books available. I live outside the city limits and should not have to pay to use the library. I would be more inclined to contribute to the library in donations if I was not charged an annual fee. I love and anticipate receiving my bag of books that are delivered to me, thanks for that! I love and appreciate the effort you put into the offerings you give to your patrons, the plethora of books, the dvds, the cultural shows and activities, the welcoming and comfy atmosphere. Please dont change too much! You're perfect just the way you are. I love going to the library whenever I can. ^-___--___^-______.___-_ I love GPL and I am so appreciative of all the time and thought that goes into your offerings, events and practices. I love my library. I always think of it as "My Library " and I never understand why everyone doesn't love it. They are missing so much. I love our library and want to use it more, but programs cause parking problems whenever I finally have off work during open hours. I haven't been inside in a long long time. I love our library! I am especially pleased that when I request that you buy a book that you actually do and that I get to read it first. I also love all the children's programming. _ I love our library! My husband and I are readers and the only thing we'd change is to have more books. I love our Library. It's a welcoming place to sit with a friend and a coffee from the Red Poppy or come and listen to music. The staff are very and you feel _ _ _friendly _welcome. I love taking my kids to story time and the library events and parties when I cant I love the children's programs and hope to see more offered! I love the friendly attitude the library radiates in Georgetown. I love the Georgetown Library!! I love the Georgetown library. Even though I live outside the city limits and have to pay an annual fee, it is more than worth it. I love coming to the library, and feel e_mp_ty_if I am_not able to go weekly. I love the layout of the library, I love browsing the new books as I come in. I would ask that you consider extending the timing of books on hold --my schedule prevents me from coming to claim my books if the book happens to become available early in the week because my window closes before the weekend when I would have come in to pick it up I love the libraries children's programs ------------- I love the library and all the kids programs they offer -- - - --- —---------- --- --------- ----- ___ -----___ --- - I love the library and books and the availability of what I enjoy reading. I'd like more large print books and series books that include the entire series I love the library and the kids scavenger hunts! I love the library, everyone is doing a great job. I love the multiculturalism. It is one of the few places of community in this politically divisive time. V V I love the Red Poppy Cafe and hope it is always a part of the library. Also, I hope they continue to accept Tex Share so those of us who don't have access to such a wonderful library like Georgetown's, can still enjoy it with our membership in our little local library. We absolutely love the second hand _b_o_ok store too! I love the staff and the volunteers, always smiling, friendly and willing to help. I love this library! I love THIS library! _ I love this library. There's just a great vibe -- I love how welcoming y'all are to all populations - children, teens, families, low income, you name it. You've done a great job. I love you guys and Gtown would be at a loss with out you and your services. I love youl I often brag about how great the library is in Georgetown. The events, Cafe, art, layout, etc. is everything you need/want in a local library. Keep up the great work! I ften go to the children's area in the afternoon and evening and some times the staff in that section does not seem to enjoy being there or want to engage with people. it's disappointing. The toys could be updated most seem to be random pieces of things. Quiet toys with less pieces maybe better a sensory table could be amazing on the patio by the children's area(beans, cups and small things to bury). Puzzle checkout could be very awesome. Doing a very good Job thanks! [that rely visit any place besides the children's area but I love the atmosphere of the library and knowing my kids can go and have somewhere to look at books and play a bit indoors. I also really love the erDrive app since I rarely have time to sit down with a book but I can download books and diobooks to my phone easily. I read reviews and you order. Love you guys. I really appreciate the community event rooms the library has. Also, the cafe! — _-- I really appreciate the GPL staff. I know they work VERY hard to serve the needs of the community. I really appreciate the G-Town library! I really enjoy the kids' programs at the library. Story time is a very important weekly acitvity for parents with young kids. I really like that now when I brouse the books from my computer, I do NOT have to go to overdrive to brouse those books. It didi take me a while to figure out how to get those books on my kindle and that I did! have to go i nto overdrive to do that. That's OK. I really like the idea of lending out tools and camping equipment etc. —____.__.__.____...._ _-----------------.._..._.__ I really like the library and still visit daily, but probably won't once I no longer work downtown since it is too noisy everywhere, study rooms included. _ I r ally wish librarians, volunteers, and staff would be more friendly to patrons. I feel like my children and myself are treated like we are an inconvenience. This is from the children's area and adult area. My daughters have excitedly shared book titles and Library finds to employees and have been brushed off. This is the library! I have kids that are excited to read! Please encourage this! ----- _—____._------.__-----__-_---.__.._.._.__—. I stopped paying for my membership because I could not find new releases on the shelves. My options were to put my name on the wait list or buy them at SHP. You should consider having more -than 2 copies of new releases available on the shelves for the 1st yr; I think it is important to have real books and a/v material available. It would be too easy for the government to determine what peopleshouldread, etc., if it were all electronic, I think that the Sunday hours should be expanded to accommodate those people who may only have that day to use the Library. Maybe open an hour later on some evenings too. V I think the Georgetown Library is a very good example of a small-town library, and I hope it will continue to grow and keep pace as the town grows. I've always been impressed by the lirary, its director and staff. I think the library and library staff as well as the red poppy cafe are all very fine. I think the library is already a cultural center and force for improvement in Georgetown. Keep up the good work? I think the library is just about perfect. The music and art are terrific! The coffee shop is great. The staff is super. I'm so glad that there are computers so that folks who don't have home access to the Internet can get on line. Eric, and everybody, is doing a fantastic job! - I think the library is the best indoor public place in Georgetown. I think the library is wonderful. I remember when we got a public library in my hometown. It was small, but to me it was heaven. The library has become incredible - I remember going there in 2007 and the second floor was pretty empty. No more. think the library's children's area is amazing!! My children love coming to the library and so do II I think y'all are doing a great job! We spend so much time There and even bring friends when they come in from out town. I wish the children's librarians would be a little friendlier. One is precious - warm and welcoming. The others seem annoyed by the kids. think you all do a great job. Best library I've been to ever! I think you are doing a terrific job! 1 think you do a great job! I think you guys are awesome! _ I thoroughly enjoy the Library, especially Second Hand Prose as I am able to expand my book collection as well as my sons. I thoughly enjoy our library. It is a place where I can get my favorite cup of tea, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and art displays and escape from daily hustle and bustle. I truly love this library and count it the very best feature -of Georgetown. So glad you're here. I will always use the library primarily to borrow printed books. I wish that there were more available audio books through Overdrive. I often cannot find any available books to listen to that I haven't already read or that interest me (no I have lots of favorite authors). Also, I wish that you would increase the limit of books on hold through Overdrive. I yvork in the book store and am alarmed at the high quality books the library culls out especially for children. I think the culling standards need to be revisited by experts not just dependent on the number of checkouts. Many of these books can be read or used in the library and returned to the shelf. Provide a basket for books which need to be reshelved. For sure, reassess culled books that have been donated by individuals or local non-profit organizations.. I would like more books on hom_eschooling I would like publishers and critics as well as children's artists to visit and talk. Thank you. _ I would like to see enhanced programs for children U I would like to see the library have cds of the Great Courses available to loan. You can get them used for pretty cheap. I would like to THANK YOU for the new door-to-door service you are providing for people like myself who no longer drive. I can't say enough about this service. I love opening my red bag every other Friday to see what wonderful materials have been placed in there. When I stopped driving one of the things I fretted over was how would I get my books. Even though I very much liked being in the environment of the library itself, this makes my life so much easier. Thank You so much ! I'm thankful that the library in a small city like Georgetown is so involved in enriching the lives of others. In my experience, libraries have always been, and hopefully will continue to be places for people to freely (both libre and gratis) access and share information, even politically unpopular information. Thank you for this valuable service. In my opinion, the Georgetown Public Library is one of the finest I've ever accessed (I've lived in larger and smaller communities). In the years we have lived in Georgetown, we have seen the library continuously improving and contributing to the life of the community. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do for the citizens of Georgetown to enrich our lives, improve our circumstances, and support our efforts _ Invest in public learning. Order materials the public requests. Feed the desire that already is present. It is a fabulous place now, and I know it will continue to expand in the future. It is a wonderful library. It will be hard to improve services and activities as perfection is hard to improve. LOVE OUR LIBRARY!! THANK YOU ALLH It would be very helpful to group books by their genre, such as mysteries , westerns, sc!-fis, etc. It would make it easier when looking for one type of reading to not have to go over the entire collection to find a desirable selection. I would love to see more ways for the kids to volunteer to help the community also. The kindness rocks were great. I am so proud to live in a town where my kids can grow up loving the library and reading. My only (very small) frustration is having to wait so long for new release books. Hard to think of anything to improve! The Georgetown library is one of the biggest assets for our community. Keep it a showplace. The Georgetown Library sets the bar quite high for what every small town library dreams it could be. The Georgetown Public Library already meets so many of the perks and needs of the community... the staff is amazing, the events are rewarding, the communal space is inviting and safe. The Georgetown Public Library is a great resource for the community. As Georgetown grows and becomes more diverse, I hope the library continues to serve the needs of all the community. It will take some work to make sure this happens. the GPI- is an exceptional resource for the community as well as the people associated with it The GPI is one of Georgetowns greatest asset. Keep on serving the community in arts, culture and activities for all the citizens. I LOVE GPM _ he idea of cooking classes in the library is concerning. With the prevalence of food allergies, we already choose to avoid the library for many events because there are lots of kids events that are handing out candy, even things like Reese's Peanut Butter cups which are a nut allergy nightmare. Food does not have to be the default treat. The library is a gentle place to be, I always smile when I walk through the door. Thank you for being there. Thank you I/ l/ -he library is a wonderful place to enjoy the joy of learning through reading. — _ The library is community -based now, it seems to me. My only concern, that of diversity, may be that Georgetown's Hispanic and black members are of small numbers. The library is doing a great job of offering many venues to the city of Georgetown. From special children's programs, teen programs, to music programs and tax and craft classes it is a wonderful asset to all the us The library is great! 'The library is my favorite place in G'town. A way to have books delivered to my home might be useful in the future. The Metropolotian Library System in Okla. City had such a program. It worked through the postal service. They may have had a grant. —T-_------_-- The Library is providing a great venue for citizens now in many ways and I hope you continue and add improvements! The library is so very much better than it was in 1981 when we moved here. Especially since it hires professional librarians. I had to go to the Southwestern library to help my children get material to write high school papers then.__ The library provides necessary services with a welcoming environment and knowledgable staff. — The library rocks! the only problem I have is that many times, books I've turned in have stayed on my account and auses Issues. Fixing check -in processes would be great. The people who work the front desk are very helpful, but seem to be short staffed at times. Would be nice if more than two people would be available when it gets busy. — The primary reason I wanted to complete this survey is this: in the past we were a family that went to he library almost weekly, But since moving to Gtown, I avoid taking my child with me to the library. It really bothers me that you have so many computers w/ video games in the kid's area. My son does NOT want to look at books at the library. He only wants to play video games. To me, this is the exact opposite of the what should happen. The quality of life in Georgetown is much enhanced by its public library The WOW is wonderful, especially for us in Sun City. It would be helpful if hold items could be held on the shelf for 7 days. There have been several occasions where we checked out reserved shelf items on Friday and then received an email on Saturday informing us we had items waiting on the shelf for us. If you had a 7 day hold, the books would still be on the shelf when we came on our weekly trip to the library. Thank you! We have been going to story time at the library for four years. You guys are amazing, you guys are constantly making me redefine the antiquated narrow view of what a library is. Keep up the good work You guys rock and I believe the staff works hard to keep the library as fantastic as it is. I love coming here to read, study, or simply get out of my house without necessarily spending money. Though I do love the muffins at the cafe downstairs... You have a nice place. You need at least 2 more employees because of increased workload/patrons, esp. at the front desk and the reference desk. You need more biographies otherwise it's an excellent library Your homebound service is absolutely wonderful ---miss Michele Harber, but the new lady, Sheila, is doing a fantastic job._ Your online presence is awesome! Love your website, catalog, online account management, self - checkout service. You are doing an excellent job of reaching out to all segments of the community and making th e library an appealing place. Cafe and Second -Hand Prose great additions. Could spend whole days there ... Thank you!!. Your selection of both fiction and now fiction seemed geared to a young (teenager) population and not an adult one.Formerly a resident of sueban Atlanta and East Coast FL I bekieve both locations offered a better selection of new issues , Your Staff are wonderful!
