Board Members Present: Chairman Bryant Boyd, Secretary Bob Weimer, Members Liz Atherton and Ellie Skross, Chamber Rep and Citizen Carol Wood Board Members Absent: Vice Chairman Joshua McClure, Glenda Overfelt, Shannon Baldridge Staff Present: Cari Miller Minutes Regular Meeting Chairman Bryant called the meeting to order at 8:10am. Previous Meeting Minutes June 19th 2003 were read. Ellie Motioned for approval and Liz brought the 2nd. No discussion all approved. Staff Report: Cari Miller, A brief report was provided, with the Promotional Brochure being table for the next meeting. Cari reported that Applebes will be providing the Beer Garden for the “Fidlin Fair”. Bryant asked for a Staff report to be made at the next meeting on the status of open Staff positions. Bryant also Thanked Staff for all the work they do. Ellie, asked that liquor option item be added to the next meeting agenda. Duly noted and will be included in the next agenda. Chairman Bryant will communicate with David Hayes and County to activate TIF. Main Street Board to be put on Commissioners agenda to discuss the issues. Liz offered a motion that Chairman Bryant pen a letter (e-mail) to Tom Yantis asking that City Staff finalize the TIF documentation and Bounderies and present forward to the County. Motion 2nd offered by Ellie. No further discussion Motion was approved. Carol Wood from the Chamber of Commerce Parking Task Force expressed a desire to be included in the Main Street Managed Parking Task Force to assist in implementing a smooth managed parking system. Chairman Bryant asked that the Task Force include the Chamber in our future work. Task Force Chair, Bob Weimer responded positively. Bryant also suggested the Hewlett Parking lot be named after Virginia Stubbs for all of her years of work to establish a managed parking plan. All agreed and would explore this effort. 7c. Façade information applications need updating. Bryant suggests Staff contact THC to have a representative provide some education on this issue. 7d. A suggestion is made to have a seminar set up with Chamber of Commerce to provide input on store front window dressing design in time to take advantage of the ideas before the 2003 Holidays. Staff and MSB will investigate this possibility. Main Street Press release covering the many initiatives MSB has brought to the City of Georgetown. Liz will do a first draft writing. MSB members will review via e-mail and return to Liz/Bryant for finalization. The Press Release will then be forwarded to Cari for presentation to Information Specialist Keith Hutchinson. Items to be added to the next meeting agenda; Managed Parking Report. Press Release. Liquor Option Report.
