MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
8 A.M. – OCTOBER 7, 2009
CHISHOLM TRAIL COMMUNITIES FOUNDATION,
116 W. 8TH ST., GEORGETOWN, TX
Board Members Present: Chris Dyer, chair; Connie Watson, secretary; Denise
Jimenez; Trevor Dunham, vice‐chair
Board Members Absent: Tamara Hudgins, Tiffany McLendon
Guests Present: Trisha Tallman, DGA; Mike Burton
City Staff Present: Robbie Wyler, Historic District Planner; Shelly
Hargrove, Main Street Manager
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:01 a.m. by Chair Chris Dyer.
2. Connie Watson moved to approve the September 2nd meeting minutes. The
motion was seconded by Denise Jimenez. Minutes were approved by all
present.
Trisha Tallman gave DGA update. A group wants to create a restaurant
coalition (outside of DGA) to handle large groups and cross promoting.
a. Taste of Georgetown is next weekend, October 17, ticket sales are going
well, but sponsorships are not as good.
3. No action on Sign Grant application – Jocko Saltus, 701 S. Main St. since
application not ready
4. Robbie Wyler gave the HARC Update. Merrill Lynch sign is going up,
approved by council. Galaxy Cupcakes is moving in; they will be working on
courtyard as a second phase; wants to cater to Southwestern and stay open
later. Landmark Tavern – jazz bar above Amante’s needs conditional special
use permit for a bar (Joe Dawda & Bobbie). Dr. Patel is partnering with Texas
State Optical and will be going to HARC for a new sign.
Robbie Wyler and Trisha Tallman went to the 2010 conference planning
meeting in Austin for National Trust that will be in Austin next year in late
October. Hoping to get a field study in Georgetown.

i. Pink Heals Tour Stop– postcards, October 21, wear pink
ii. Holiday Co‐op Advertising posters and rack cards
iii. Ad in Austin Monthly October issue
b. Downtown Issues:
i. New Braunfels Site Visit – group came through last week. Half
of the group had lots of questions
ii. Parking – 4‐month moratorium on parking enforcement being
proposed. In 2003, a survey was done and the majority of
merchants wanted parking enforcement.
c. Mark your Calendars – Dates to Remember:
i. Georgetown Art Works Fall Art Hop & Happy Trails Banners

ii. “You Can’t Do That Dan Moody” through Oct. 11 at Williamson

$35 for a spot
x. Texas Downtown Revitalization Conference, “Tools for
Downtown Development” – Nov. 3‐6 in Tyler – Move to Nov.
12 at 8 a.m.
xi. Archeology Day – Oct. 24 at Berry Springs
6. Committee Reports:
a. Design (Tiffany, Tamara, Denise, Pete): Kiwanis holiday wreathes
for Christmas
b. Economic Restructuring (Trevor, Chris, Tamara): three billboards
at a cost of $24,000. Tiffany is helping with design and Jeffrey
Hammond is doing photos. Work plan focusing on Texas Film
Friendly designation and Community Impact Newspaper is doing a
story on it.

c. Promotion (Connie, Denise, Tiffany): Chris moved to move the
Swirl to Friday, February 12. The motion was seconded by Trevor.
Date change was approved. Needs board support for sponsors.
d. Organization (Chris, Trevor, Connie): will merge with Economic
Restructuring committee.
7. The next meeting will be November 12th at the courthouse. New Business:
Courthouse lights – fundraising through museum. The meeting adjourned at
9:12 a.m.
