Board Members Present: Connie Watson, chair; Mike Burton, secretary; Denise Jimenez, Lucas Adams Board Members Absent: Rusty Winkstern Staff Present: Eric Lashley, Library Director; Robbie Wyler, Historic District Planner; Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager Minutes Regular Meeting 1.The meeting was called to order at 8:40 a.m. by Board Chair Connie Watson. 2.Eric Lashley, Library Director , discussed the goals of the Arts & Culture Board and asked for a Main Street Advisory Board representative to attend their future monthly meetings at 4:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the library. Lucas was considering. 3.Connie moved to approve the September 10 th minutes. The motion was seconded by Denise. Minutes approved by three board members , one abstained. 4.Paula Miller with Garden Path Florist & Gifts submitted and discussed her sign grant application for $340. Denise moved to approve the sign grant , Mike seconded. Motion approved by all board members present. Ken Covington with Ken’z Guitars, Accessories and More submitted and presented his sign grant application for $336.50. Lucas moved to approve the sign grant application, Connie seconded. Motion approved by all board members present. 4.Bill Hein with His & Her Treasures at112 W. 8 th St. presented a façade grant application for $454.13 to repair and repaint front façade with the same color scheme. Rusty moved to accept the façade grant, Judy seconded. Motion approved by all board members present. 6.Staff Report given by Shelly: ·Reminder about the new Pink Heals 5K race tomorrow (Saturday) at the old fire station as a fundraiser for the local Breast Cancer Resource Center. National Pink Heals Tour Stop parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Oct. 13 on Main St. on the east side of the courthouse. ·Best of Georgetown contest voting is going through the end of the month on Shop.Georgetown.org . Top three winners in each of the 50 categories will be announced at November 5’s First Friday in downtown. 7.Committee Reports: a.Economic Restructuring: Connie mentioned updating the annual action plan and prioritizing b.Promotion: Denise reported about getting sponsorship paperwork updated with possibly Matthew Painter as our sponsorship lead; Todd White Photography was looked at to be the Swirl photographer to print souvenir photos on site; board photo in front of Palace Theatre Annex building for façade grant check will be 1 p.m. on Monday. c.Design: no report d.Organization: no report e.Joint Arts & Culture: Eric Lashley reported earlier in meeting. 8.The meeting was adjourned at 9:43 a.m. The next meeting is set for November 5 th .
