Motion Approved: 7- 0 Voting For: Katherine Kainer, Chad W Holz, Jolene Melancon, Peter Bahrs, Brazos Fielder, Keith Fruge, Corey Abbate VotingAgainst: None 1.1 Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update __ Peter Bahrs, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Member Liaison The Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation had their annual meeting on September 18, 2023. There are board member openings available. Peter spoke on allocations of funds the Friends received from their contract with Two Step Inn. The group allocated 500k back to the City for Parkland and they also allocated 50k to be used for Recreation program scholarships. Georgetown Recreation Center in now processing scholarship applications for a smoother and quicker process . The Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation have joined the National Association of Park Foundations. They are hoping to receive instruction on how to be a more successful non-profit organization. Current Capital Projects are: ADA Trail Improvements San Gabriel Ptase III • Garey House • Neighborhood Parks • Park Replacement • Village Pool House 1.K Director's Report Director's Report -- Kimberly Garrett, Parks and Recreation Director Kimberly discussed park news and what has been going on in the Parks Department lately. She discussed the following: U4 MW 1151iffam- # Hay Day at Garey Park was we atten •e # Trick or Treat Trail I # Dance for Disabilities * Scholarships 0 Two Step Inn - Will be selling 35,000 tickets, 20% of tickets are open to residents before opening sales to the public. City of Georgetown resident ticket sales will be offered from Oct 25th to the 27th. Public ticket sales will begin on Nov 2nd. The lineup will be out Nov 1 st. 11 Private Parkland Credit for Berry Creek Apartments Consideration and possible action to recommend the approval of the parkland dedication proposal for the Berry Creek Apartments -- Kimberly Garrett, Parks Kimberly explained that the Berry Creek Apartment development is proposing to provide a private park with trail access and parking through a public access easement from the adjacent lot. The parkland is along Berry Creek and would be open to the public but would be owned and maintained by the developer. The project would receive 50% credit towards their parkland requirements for land and development. Moved by Chad W Holz; seconded by Brazos Fielder to approve the recommendation #f the parkland dedication proposal for the is Creek Apartments. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item • which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a speaker may be granted. The requestor granting time to another •` must also submit a form and be present at the meeting. A request must be received by the Advisory Board Commission Liaison prior to the day the agenda for this mee ng is posted. Each speaker will given three minutes to address the Board or Commission members.
