This is the regular monthly meeting for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board which meets tht
2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at 1101 N. College Street, Georgetown, TX 78626,

Present were Brazos Fielder, Keith Fruge, Katherine Kainer, Jolene Melancon

Chad Holz was unable to attend. Vice Chair, Keith Fruge called the meeting to order
at 5:57 PM.

1.0 Approve Minutes
Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the May 11, 2023,
Parks, and Recreation Advisory Board meeting -- Amy Castillo, Administrative
Assistant

1.D Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update
Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update -- Peter Bahrs, Parks, and
Recreation Advisory Board Member Liaison
Peter Bahrs was not able to make the meeting. Kimberly Garrett gave a brief Friends
of Georgetown update. They received $1.2 million dollars on May 16, 2023. They will
keep some of the funds in reserve to grow. Some will be allocated to Parks for
scholarships and to assist in funding Capital Improvement Projects. A list of funding
requests will be submitted to the Friends of Georgetown Parks in alignment with
department priorities.
1-E CaprtM Projects Update
Updates on Capital Projects -- Eric Nuner, Parks, and Recreation Assistant Director
Eric Nuner gave Capital Project updates. several projects have been completed. He
focused on the San Gabriel Phase III project. There have been minor delays due to
current lines not being marked. Leveling and grading will begin once pipes are moved,
Several projects are moving and there has been great success.

1-G Final Recreation Center Feasibility Study Report
Final Report on the Recreation Center Feasibility Study -- Kimberly Garrett, Parks, and
Recreation Director
Kimberly Garrett discussed the final report on the Recreation Feasibility Study. We will
be taking it before City Council on July 25, 2023. The Recreation Center expansion and
renovation is the top priority out of the study and will be requested to be placed on the
November 2023 Bond Election.
1.1-1 Park Design GLJ&Hnes
Presentation and discussion on Park Development Guidelines -- Eric Nuner, Assistant
Parks, and Recreation Director
Eric Nuner discussed the Park Design Guidelines. In some instances, developers are
required to designate a portion of their development as parkland. The parkland then
becomes city property, At times the developer will choose to develop the parkland. Park
design guidelines are to assist the developer in their design to assure consistency across
our parks. The Park's Department has had a tentative outline of guidelines but now has
finalized a list of design requirements. The developers must comply with the guidelines
set by the city.

the item on which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the
meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons
who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak.
Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is
permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a
speaker may be granted. The requestor granting time to another speaker must also submit a for
and be present at the meeting.
