The following embers Were in attendance: Present were: Peter Bahrs, Brazos Fielder, Keith Fruge, Corey W Abbate, Brandon Harper, 1.A Call to Order Call to Order -- Brazos Fielder, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Brazos Fielder, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair. 1.13 Roll Call Roll Call -- Brazos Fielder, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair Roll was called by Brazos Fielder, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Chair, 1.0 Board Member Introductions Welcome and introduce appointed Park's Advisory Board members -- Eric Nuner, Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Fach Board Member went around and introduced themselves. We welcomed two new 's-loard members, Damon Shareef and Brandon Harper. C.D Staff Introductions Introduction of Staff Member Jamie Bradford -- Jamie Bradford, Recreation Supervisor Jamie Bradford, Parks and Recreation Supervisor, introduced herself to the Parks Board Members. Jamie is originally from Lampasas Texas but has been in Georgetown for 25 years. Jamie became a member at the Georgetown Recreation Center when it was still just the small Recreation Center. She started working out frequently and with Recreation Staffs encouragement she became a Contract Employee and began teaching fitness classes. Jamie is now the Recreation Supervisor for Operations and Fitness. She enjoys her relationships with her coworkers and the Georgetown Community. 1.E Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's Purpose Overview Overview of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board's purpose, and section 2.36 of th City Commissions, Committees and Boards of the Municipal Code including member duties, attendance policy and how conflicts of interest are addressed. I Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Update -- Peter Bahrs, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Liaison The Friends of Georgetown Parks and recreation's annual meeting was held on Sept 23rd. They are the contract holder for Two Step Inn. As the contract holder of the Two Step Inn their funds have increased signcantly. With this money they • the • buy parkland and grant scholarships to those who need assistance with Recreation Memberships and Programs. They have allocated 50k for scholarships and the Rec Center has awarded 21 k to 104 residents this year. This year the Friends will also be paying entrance fees into Garey Park during the Two Step Inn Festival. San Gabriel Park will be closed during the festival, and this will allow residence to visit Garey Park without paying an entrance fee. Other programs they have sponsored are The Tails on Trails, Sunset Movies in the Park, and they are assisting with the purchase of a cargo van for the Rec on the Go Program. 1J Capital Projects Update Update on current Capital Projects - City of Georgetown Capital Projects can be four5i at https:Hgeorgetown-tx.cleargov.com/projects -- Eric Nuner, Parks and Recreation Assistant Director Eric Nuner reminded the Parks Board they could view ClearGov-, a program that reflects City projects and their progress. Eric Nuner and Patrick Cavanaugh regularly update ClearGov; public can subscribe to receive updates as they are posted. https:Hgeorgetown-tx.cleargov,com/projects IX COMMIssion for the Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) Update Presentation and discussion regarding Commission for the Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) progress -- Eric Nuner, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Eric Nuner gave an Update on our CAPRA process' We applied in une of 2024 and began working on documentation to support how our Agency is meeting the required standards. There are about 200 agencies that are accredited across the country and 30 in Texas. There are 154 standards we have to meet and 36 fundamental standards we must meet. Once we have completed our documentation of evidence of compliance to these standards, we will have NRPA/CAPRA volunteers visit our agency's facilities and evaluate all documentation to determine whether or not we have met the required standards. Public Wishing to Address the Board Please fill out a speaker registration form which can be found on the table at the entrance to the meeting room. Clearly print your name and the letter of the item on which you wish to speak and present it to the Board Liaison prior to the start of the meeting. You will be called forward to speak when the Board considers that item. Only persons who have delivered the speaker form prior to the meeting being called to order may speak. Speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak. If you wish to speak for six minutes, it is permissible to use another requestor's granted time to speak. No more than six minutes for a speaker may be granted.
