The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at 04:30 PM in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room, 1003 North Austin Ave., Georgetown, Texas.

Youth Advisory Board Mission Statement
The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board provides a means for youth to unite the community,
promote healthy decisions and create leadership skills to create solutions for the benefit of all.
Notice is hereby given that the Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will hold a meeting on
Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Parks and
Recreation Building, located at 1003 N. Austin Ave. Georgetown, Texas.

The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Wednesday ,
September 24, 2003.
Board Members Present:
Candice Butler, Rebecca Counts, Elissa Delmatier, Phillip May, Jonathan Soape, Jillian Daleiden, Travis
Hobbs, Steffanie Sikes, Ashleigh McCord, Amanda Patterson, Melody Varner
Board Members Absent:
Meredith Morrow, Jennifer Daleiden, Amanda Hanson, Nicole Hanson
Staff Present:
Brenda J. Culver, Staff Liaison, Gabe Sansing, City Councilman

Regular Meeting
I.CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Jillian calls the meeting to order at 4:40 PM at the Parks and Recreations Conference
room.
II.REPORT ON VACATION PARTY
Several GYAB members commented on the back to school party, everyone seemed to
have a a good time , there were no major incidents and the challenges were more fun this year.
We had over 250 attendees, some cool prizes and another great teen event co-sponsored by
GYAB, The Georgetown Project, The Williamson County Sun and several local Building
activities and the benefits of bonding with one other. Brenda asked members to look at their role
in GYAB and for leaders to help mentor and facilitate the younger members leadership abilities
by allowing everyone a voice in creating change on the Board
III.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON THE BYLAWS
The following changes were made to the GYAB ByLaws:
Section 3.1 The second sentence shall read, The Chairperson shall be elected by the
Board, and appointed by the mayor.
Section 3.2 Election of Board officers will be held annually in April.
Section 3.3 The third sentence will read, In the event of vacancy in the office of the
Chair, the Board shall recommend to the City Council a suitable replacement to
serve as Chair.
Section 3.4 Discussion on the removal of a Board officer. The following sentence
will be added, In the event of dereliction of duty or impropriety, a 2/3rd - majority
vote from the entire Board (all members) will remove an officer from his/her office.
Section 4.1 Meetings will continue to be held on the 1st and 4th Monday of each
month at 4:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center Conference room.
Jillian motions to accept the revision to the ByLaws. Amanda seconds. All in favor
11-0.
IV.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON CALENDAR
Steffanie moves to chaperone 6th Grade dances held at the recreation Center.
Meeredith seconds.
all in favor 11-0.
V.ADJOURN
Melody motions to adjourn the meeting. Amanda seconds.
