The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will meet on Monday, January 26, 2004 at 04:30 PM in the Parks
and Recreation Conference Room, 1003 North Austin Ave., Georgetown, Texas.

Youth Advisory Board Mission Statement
The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board provides a means for youth to unite the community,
promote healthy decisions and create leadership skills to create solutions for the benefit of all.
Notice is hereby given that the Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will hold a meeting on
Monday, January 26, 2004, at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Parks and
Recreation Building, located at 1003 N. Austin Ave. Georgetown, Texas.

The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Monday , January 26,
2004.

January 26, 2004
I.CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Jillian calls the meeting to order at 4:54 p.m.at the Parks and Recreations Conference
room.
II.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON TEEN FEST
Amanda leads discussion on Teen Fest dates and list responsibilies for the April 17,
2004, event. Jillian reports that the date does coincide with the National Youth
Service day. The Georgetown Project will continue to sponsor the Service day and
GYAB will handle the Teen Fest. The board is interested in opening up booths to
High School Clubs for them to raise money at the Fest. Community Events and
Youth Activities Committees will meet to discuss what the setup for booths will be
and who will be invited to participate. The Board is also interested in giving door
prizes away at the event. GYAB will prepare flyers and solicit donations from area
business for prizes. Brenda will apply for the event permit and get more information
from Traci about climbing wall availability. Brenda will meet with the Parks
Manager to determine what the lighting and electricity situation will be like in the
park. More information and task list will be created for the next meeting.
III.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION GEORGETOWN PROJECT YOUTH
GROUP GRANT
Jillian discusses the Youth Group grants that the Georgetown Project is offering to the
local programs. Steffanie volunteers to fill out and present the grant
proposal.
IV.REPORT ON YOUTH SERVICE DAY
Jillian reports that MLK Service day was a success as 50 students participated in
annual event. Lots of enthusiasm from the volunteers who worked at a varity of
sights around the city.
V.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON CALENDAR
Brenda leads the discussion on upcoming events. The Cupid's Chase 5K will be
Saturday February 7, 2004, and volunteers are needed to man the 1 mile water station.
Volunteers: Phillip, Elissa, Meredith, Steffanie, Jonathan and Jillian There will be a
6th Grade Valentines Dancen on February 12, 2004, here at the Rec. Center. YAC
Summit deadline for attending is Friday, February 20th, 2003. The event is March
6th and 7th in Mesquite.
VI.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Discussion on no longer holding Committee meetings due to low membership and
investment.
