Georgetown Youth Advisory Board Members: Rebecca Counts, Phillip May, Jonathan Soape, Candice Butler, Crystal Pratt, Vishal Gaglani, Meredith Morrow, Meredith Klipple, Amanda Hanson- Emerson, Jonathan Patterson, Kaci Rogers, Fernando G. Romero Jr., Will Foster, Ann Evans, Melissa McNutt, Rachel McNutt, Jacob Wolfman, Kammie Wolfman Georgetown Youth Advisory Board meeting dates/times to be determined. Call to Order at 04:30 PM Youth Advisory Board Mission Statement The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board provides a means for youth to unite the community, promote healthy decisions and create leadership skills to create solutions for the benefit of all. Notice is hereby given that the Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Parks and Recreation Building, located at 1003 N. Austin Ave. Georgetown, Texas. AGENDA 1.Board meeting call to order- Rebecca Counts 2.Induction of New Members- Yvette Rose 3.Introduction to City Board- Kim Garrett 4. Board Members Present: Ann Evans, Crystal Pratt, Phillip May, Candice Butler, Rebecca Counts, Rachel McNutt, Melissa McNutt, Jacob Wolfman, Amanda Hanson-Emerson, Fernando G. Romero Jr., Will Foster, Meredith Morrow Board Members Absent: Jonathan Soape, Kaci Rogers, Vishal Gaglani, Meredith Klipple, Kammie Wolfman, Jonathan Patterson Staff Present: Traci Stengle, Brenda J. Culver Minutes Regular Meeting AGENDA I.Board meeting call to order at 4:35 p.m. by Rebecca Counts. II.Yvette Rose conducts induction of new members. III.Traci Stengle presents an introduction to City Boards and GYAB Mission Statement. IV Traci leads a get to know you game. V. Discussion held on upcoming Youth Leadership Summit and participation in this activity with the Georgetown Project Youth Action Council. Youth Summit will be held October 24, 2005, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m at Crestview Baptist Church. VI. Brenda reviews the bylaws and attendance requirements for the GYAB. VII. Traci and Candice Butler lead the discussion and possible action on GYAB Goals. The following goals were set: to make realistic calendar goals, advise the Parks and Recreation Department on Teen Center developments, Coordinate a retreat to acquire leadership skills, promote GYAB (website, shirts, community participation). Rebecca Counts motions to accept. Meredith Morrow seconds. Vote 11-0 in favor. VIII. Meredith and Traci lead discussion on Calendar. Back to school Pool Party is next big event set for August 27 at Williams Drive Pool. Rebecca motions for GYAB to participate. Phillip seconds. Vote 11-0 in favor. Subcommittee will meet Tuesday June 23 at the Recreation Center at 4:30 p.m. to plan GYAB booths. IX. Meredith Morrow made a motion to adjourn.
