Notice is hereby given that the Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Parks and Recreation Building, located at 1003 N. Board Members Present: Candice Butler, Amanda Hanson-Emerson, Rebecca Counts, Elissa Delmatier, Phillip May, Meredith Morrow, Jonathan Soape, Kammie Wolfman, Rachel MCNutt, Melissa McNutt, Jonathan Patterson Board Members Absent: Steffanie Sikes, Jacob Wolfman Staff Present: Brenda J. Culver Minutes Regular Meeting I.CALL MEETING TO ORDER Rebecca Counts calls the meeting to order at 4:33 p.m. at the Parks and Recreations Conference room. II.APPROVE MEETING MINUTES Motion to accept the meeting minutes for 1/11/05 by Phillip May. Meredith Morrow seconds. Vote 10 - 0 in favor. III.DISSCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON TEEN FEST Discussion opened with the group deciding not to have a competition and to rename the event at the next meeting after some names were talked about. The Boards Task List was discussed for the event and will be assigned at the next meeting. IV.DISSCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON THE BUDGET The Board was informed about upcoming budget issues for events and to prepare some priorities for the next meeting in respect to the Budget for the upcoming fiscal year. V.DISSCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON RECRUITING Volunteeers were requested to go recruititng at the GISD middle schools next week for new GYAB members. VI.DISSCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON CALENDER Cupid's Chase Volunteers were asked to arrive at the Recreation Center at 7:30 a.m. to man the water station at mile one of the race. Also discussed the February 11, 2005, Open Recreation Night from 9:30 - 11:00 p.m.and requested that GYAB members attend if able. Volunteeers were also requested to help Carmen May with the Frost Elememtary Carnival. Board members were given contact information for the February 27, 2005, event. VII. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ATTENDANCE Jonathan Soape reminds members that they must make 67% of all Board meetings with excused absences. He also stated that he would contact members if they were close to exceeding this number, in order to keep them aware of their attendance. VII. ADJOURN Candice Butler moves that the meeting be adjourned. Elissa Delmatier seconds.
