The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Monday , December 6,
2010.
Board Members Present:
Kokie Cummings, Alicia Kellum, Claire Janes, Rachel Konovodoff, Sara Peacock, Dylan Ragan,
Frances Stone, Parker Tadlock, Bailey Vandegrift, Tyler Willrich

Regular Meeting
Minutes for December 6, 2010
Meeting called to order at 5:00 by Tyler Willrich
1.Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from GYAB meeting on November 16,
2010.
Motion to approve: Dylan Ragan, Second: Kokie Cummings to approve minutes
2.Katie Sofranko discussed how we did at the Christmas Stroll. More than 300 fliers were passed
out to teenagers about the upcoming holiday party but had a bad spot for a booth and lost
$130 in costs of the cookies and hot chocolate mix. Keeping in mind the Red Poppy Festival for
ways to make the experience better.
3.Katie Sofranko brought up the planning for the presentation at December 14 City Council
Meeting.

·Have general introduction of GYAB and individual members
·Give recap on Christmas stroll
·Soldiers Service project
· Holiday party

-Pass surveys out to Georgetown youth with questions regarding things
they want changed around Georgetown, and sports or activities they’d
be interested in.
d.The City Council will have final say on approving the changed by laws
4.Katie Sofranko brought up planning for the Holiday Party.
-It was decided to use the leftover cookie dough balls for cookies at the party. And the system
of “take and bake” would be enforced, where you bring the cookie dough home, make it
yourself, and bring it back.
-There will be pizza and the chosen company would be discussed the next meeting when Claire
Janes has the local prices.
-The party will offer sodas and punch, purchased from Sam’s.
-A playlist off an iPod consisting of modern music and holiday music will be made by Bailey
Vandegrift and used at the party.
-Members of GYAB should be at Rec by 6pm to start setting up. Party will be from 8 until 10.
-The movie Elf will be playing.
-Sara Peacock will make fliers to advertise party
-People entering will have to sign in, get a wristband and not leave if they want to come back.
Somebody will have to watch the doors.
-Decorations like snowflakes but NO mistletoe.
5. Katie Sofranko brought up the consideration and possible action to add activities to the GYAB
calendar.
a. Service Projects
- Army letters for Christmas. It would involve sending Christmas letters to soldiers
overseas. The deadline is Monday the 20
th
. Kokie Cummings, Parker Tadlock, Frances Stone, and Rachel
Konovodoff volunteered to promote this project around their schools.
b. Other events
- Partnering with a group in Georgetown who would like to have a running live music
night. It would be held every second Saturday from 7 until 9. The first one will start on January 15.
- The idea of having a party once a month was brought up. These parties would have
themes to go with the month or holidays, with an admission to get in.
The next meeting was set for Monday, December 20
th
at 5pm.
Motion by Sara Peacock and second by Tyler Willrich to approve events and next meeting.
