The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board will meet on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 04:30 PM in the Teen
Center Study Room, 1003 N. Austin Ave, Georgetown, Texas

1.Call to Order- Katie Sofranko
2.Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from GYAB meeting on
Tuesday, September 19, 2010 meeting and the GYAB retreat on Saturday, September 23,
2010- GYAB members
3.Recap of Haunted Hayride- Haunted Hayride
4.Election of officers- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at
Arms- GYAB members
5.Discussion of ideas for upcoming events and service projects- GYAB members

The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Tuesday , November 2,
2010.
Board Members Present:
Rachel Konovodoff, Claire Janes, Bailey Vandegrift, Sara Peacock, Tyler Willrich, Parker Tadlock, Alicia
Kellum
Board Members Absent:
Kokie Cummings, Audrie Cummings, Dylan Ragan, Frances Stone
Staff Present:
Katie Sofranko
Minutes
Regular Meeting
1. Call to Order at 4:39pm
2. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from GYAB meeting on Tuesday,
September 19, 2010 and GYAB retreat on Saturday, October 23, 2010- GYAB members
Motion by Peacock, Second by Willrich to approve minutes
3. Recap of Haunted Hayride- Katie Sofranko
Sofranko thanked GYAB members for their service at the Haunted Hayride and stated that 40
service hours had been logged for the event. She informed the GYAB that they won 3rd place out
of 6 total scenes.
4. Election of Officers- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant At
Arms- GYAB members
Tadlock and Willrich both stood for election to Chairperson. Willrich defeated Tadlock by 1
vote. Peacock was unchallenged for Vice-Chairperson and was unanimously voted into the
position. Konovodoff was unchallenged for Secretary and was unanimously voted into the
position. Janes and Kokie Cummings stood for election to Treasurer. Janes defeated Cummings
by 1 vote. Vandegrift was unchallenged for Sergeant At Arms and was unanimously voted into
the position.
5. Ideas for upcoming events and service projects- GYAB members
The floor was open to GYAB members to suggest ideas for Teen events and service projects.
Teen Events suggested: Battle of the Bands, Fun Run, Lock-ins, Teen Scavenger Hunt or Hide &
Seek game, Winter Dance, Participation in the Christmas Stroll, Participation in the Red Poppy
Festival, Provide a booth to sell teen artwork at Market Days, Art Show in Teen Center
Service Projects suggested: Clothing/supply drive for Eagle Locker, Car Wash for seniors,
Restoration of historical sites, Park Cleanup, Volunteer at Animal Shelter, Gift Wrapping at Teen
Center during holidays and/or at Blue Santa, Soles for Souls shoe drive, Sending packages to
Soldiers, Visiting nursing homes, Visiting Children’s Hospital, Volunteering at Eggstravaganza
Motion by Vandegrift, second by Peacock to adjourn at 5:18pm
