AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX RATE FOR THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE TAX YEAR 2025 REPEALING
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS; INCLUDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND B
ESTALISHING AN EFFECTIVE
FrATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is an incorporated Home Rule municipality
dependent upon taxes to provide its citizens with services; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary to levy taxes for the 2026 fiscal year for
the City of Georgetown, Texas; and
and operations than last year's tax rate; and
WHEREAS, the tax rate will effectively be raised by positive
.4.42 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations
on a $ 1009 000 home by approximately positive $4.8 1;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was conducted in
compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 5 5 1.
SECTION 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Georgetown (the "City Council") hereby
finds that all of the prerequisites to the levying of a tax rate for this City for the tax year 2025,
(includin without limitation certifications notices. submittals and public hearin as required
by law have been complied with.

SECTION 4, The City Council does hereby levy and adopt the tax rate on $ 100 valuation
for the tax year 2025 as follows:

with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 6. If any provision of this ordinance, or application thereof, to any person or
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or

SECTION 7. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City
Secretary to attest. This Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect in
accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Georgetown.
