The Georgetown Area Public Library was called to order by Mr. Harry Gold.
Mrs. Gadison read the minutes of the last meeting. The minutes were approved
with one correction. Mrs. Winters passed out the financial report, it was
approved as given.
Mr. Gold reported that he felt the city would approve our request for
book money.
- The board welcomed Ms. Jeane Jacobs, new board member. She stated that
the continued reading program needs to be stressed, because a lot of people are
under the impression that its just for the summer.
Next order of business Mrs. Philpot reported that the city would pay for
one additional person for the summer. She also reported our article "Look at
a Book" has been discontinued from the newspaper. She suggested we hold off
payment for the bookshelves until the company install them.
Mr. -Gold was asked about revenue sharing money to help add on the second
floor. He felt that we could not count on money -from the county. He also stated
we moved into -..our new facility 8 years ago, and today it will cost an additional
$300,000 to add a second floor.
After no further business, the meeting adjourned.
