The August meeting of the Library Board was called to order by
"Vise President E.L. Willia,l.s, :ind the minutes of the July meeting were
read by Jeanne Jacob and approved as rcrid. Mr. Williams suggest:sd that
Jea.,ine .Jaoob be appointed assistant secretary. This appointment was
unanimously :a,oproved.
Tile financial report was approved, as re= �d by Firs. Winters. as of
the United Fund balance.was 419032.31, and operating funis were
:481 .33. Mrs. Philpot announced that the city had --'Lvpn p-�rmission for
ti-e P.-art-time help to contilue anch_fflged thru yu ust. 'Then, beginning
in -)eptea �;er, the part time employee would work 15 "]ours.
During the discussion of old business, Mrs. Philpot was instructed
co Staple a note on Mr. Tho�asls eneck reUuesting improved custodial_
.rvice. Al.;o, Mr. G(1d presented fi Set of proposals for use of
library community room. The -se pro os-1s were approved on an unanimous
vote, and were to be typed by Mr, ;. Winters. They -ire Vne followings

New business consisted of fir. Gold presenting on addition to the

ervice of the library. This was passed by a. consensus of th(3 board.
