The June meeting was 0alled,to order by Secretary Jacob. The
111inutes were approved'as 'presented. The financial report showed a
balance of encumbered funds of 01.851 and of operating funds - of $21538-93-
During the discussion of old business, Jacob reported on the good response
to the fliers distributed at two public schooltwo
I private pre-schools,
rind at the library. As of 6-1-799 the talley_w2s:

3 encourage my organizations to donate money for children's
books and/or activities
volenteer my time to ,-iork in the library
prepare newspaper articles on library activities
other (transport kids, Supply Puppets,,music activities,
etc.)
Jacob reDorted that the storytime.for grades 1-4 will be on Tuesdays
nd the preschool storyhour will remain on Wednesdays.
'The board recognized the f-act that the Friends were 'still inactive.
Wiriters!�Uestloned wheth6r or not it was the role of the -board to
re.-.,c,tiv5.te the Friends. Oliver observed that If the Board didn1t instigate
sore action nothing would be done. Oliver agreed to try and get 7 former
Friend, Possibly Mrs. Frances Springer, to cal_ the meeting. She alto
Voitintecred to collect the Friend Materials from Seever.
