Philpot reported that the grant money from the CTLS allowed 217 to spent on childr,_.n's books. This amount purchased 34 books. The president of the Friends of the Library is automatically ;.iember of the Library Board. Therefore, she should receive the i_.utes and notification of our next meeting. Oliver reported for Jacob that the CTLS meeting in Austin on --it 23rd approved the 1981 budget of $378,856. The local library benefits :tam CTLS through services like consultants for collection development, — r:cshops, interlibr:.ry loan, films, publicity materials, funds for >ok purchases etc. Philpot stated that "she aldn't feel any of the _,:, vices were re,,i _,y helpful except the workshops and the money for r-,ot.s. Jacob was elected to a three year term as a lay representative to the .:..: v isory board of the CTLS. That board monitors and ap.,roves all systems' progr--Zs and budget. The next CTLS workshop will be on ay 21, 1980, in i�!arble Falls, and will be on the topic of cataloging for .Libraries. It was felt that this would be a vital workshop for our .v.ff people to attend. Philpot attended the meeting of the Georgetown United Fund Board -and . ..tue sted i�41000 to r1e given to the Library for 1981. For 1980, the .orgetown Library s:as =riven $3,000. At tie time for our meeting we did not :. ve information from the United Fund Board as to the amount of money t nas allotted the library.
