Hine ;ham' s Friends report was read to the Board. Philpot reported -ihat she and Williams have worked out a coda of record keepin„ :for staff time sheets" From now on they will show when time off is due to sick leave, vacation, emer-eney leave, or whatever. i'hilpot also reported to the 'Board that :Bill . erritt"s ' estimate for steat.,i cleaning the carpets was $158. Jacob moved and Vasquez seconded the motion that I'1erritt be hired. Jacob and Vasquez were instructed to mect with Leo good to see if the City Council could pay for this. The board spent a great deal of time discussing the difficult matter of expanding library hours while straying within the current budget. The bol-Drd reacned no decisions but agonized over possible alternativess staggered work hours for aai(l employees, volunteer staff and what their duties would be, etc. Oliver was asked to check with other iits7_-arles about staffing schedtales and men wort{ up some :schedules for the Board's December meeting. L: stly, the 13o!�rd decided, at the December meeting, to poll all the members about their desire to continue to serve on the Board. Some of the Board members (Harper, Jncob, rind Vastiuez) have terms ending on Dec. 31st, 1980,while others .are experiencing work conflicts. There being no .Further business;, the meeting was .adjourned at ll t20 a,m. The next meeting is December 3 nt 10t00 a.m. and all members are urged to attend this most important meeting.
