Library Report
Present: Elliott, `"linters, Harper, Gold, Vasquez, Jacob, Seever
and Philpot.

The financial report presented by Winters was approved. As of Feb. 28,
1981 the report showed a balance of operation funds of 3,283.39.
P}-iilpot library report showed a total circulation of 6,690 for the
month of January.
During p the C.T.L.S. report Jacobs reported the.i• tlIe C.T.L•8- o}�f ;-M
was to stay in the.Austin area. The next workshop will be in Bound
Rock,)3c3ry 13 on Developments on Library Personnel and Story
Hours.
There was no report from the Friends due to the absence of Bingham.
There was no LRPC report from Gold.
Philpot presented'a letter that she had received from the United Nay
board asking for help for the year 81-82. No action was taken by the
Library board.
Library Board Trustees appointments for 1981 are -to come before the
city council during; the March meeting;. They are Jacob, Harper :.nd
Vasquez who will serve through December 1983 and Seever appointed
to replace Jefferson term, which goes to December 1984.
( Oliver and Elliott terms are to Dec. 81. Williams and Gold
terms to Dec. 1982.)&u;nA�ers .
The Board planned activities to kick-off Library Week which is
April 6-11. On Sunday April 5th at 3:00 p.m. in the library a uoffc.e
be held in honor of Mr. Harry Gold .who retires from the city

will talk to Friends to be hostess and .ihe will also schedui.e
programs and story hours for the week. Vasquez will contact artists
to display art work during the week also. The Newspaper will be
notify of all activities and invitation will be mail out. Barbara
Seever was made chairperson of Celebration of Library Week and coffee
reception.
The proposed budget of the library 1981-82 was presented and revie-,-i
with a 6% increase. Philpot stated the need for another assistant.
Gold will present the proposed budget to Mr. Leo Wood with the
extra help added.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m. The next meeting is April 1st
at 10.00 a.m.
