Williams recommended that Gertrude S)aterfi.eld be con:,i_der 'to fulfill
the unexpired term of Harper. Seever made a motion that Sate.rfield be

Georgetown Library Board of Trustees
Minutes of Meeting
Present; Philpot; Elliott; Williams; Winters; Seever; Jacobs; Oliver
The Georgetown Library Board of Trustees met on June 3, 1981. The meeting
was called to order by the Chairperson, Mr. Williams. The minutes of the
May, 1981 meeting were corrected by addition of the discussion about a more
convenient time to meet. This subject was tabled.
The financial report by Mrs. Winters was approved. As of 5-31-81, the report
showed a operating fund balance of $2, 820.13 .
Mrs. Philpot's library report showed a total circulation of 5,984. She told
members that 400 books had been given to the Georgetown Library by Austin,
Texas. Mr. Virgil Carlson, CPA, wrote a letter stating he had not been
charging for his services, but will now require a fee of $75.00 .
The Library Board regretfully accepted the resignation of Mrs. Lois Vasquez.
Mrs. Seever made the motion that the Board accept Mrs. Vasquez's resignation,
seconded by Mrs. Elliott. Motion carried.

Mrs. Seever made a motion that the present meeting time continue as if for
the present. Mrs. Winters seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Policy change considerations were discussed. Mrs. Winters made a motion
that the damaged book fee and book fine ceiling would be the current price
of the book, plus a one dollar and fifty cents ($1 .50) handling charge. Mrs.
Jacobs seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mrs. Oliver moved that the
Librarian be able to regulate the number of books to be checked out over a
holiday period. Mrs. Winters seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Mr. Williams suggested that we keep overdue fines and memorial gifts in
a special account in order for Mrs. Philpot to have a petty cash fund.
Mrs. Jacobs suggested that we give Mrs. Grace Jones a plaque of appreciation.
Mrs, Oliver made the motion that Mrs. Jacobs attend to this gesture of
appreciation. Mrs. Elliott seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mrs.
Seever volunteered to help with the children's entertainment and educational
programs when she returns from England this Autumn.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting
is scheduled for July 1, 1981, at 10:00 a. m.
