The November meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Georgetown Area
Public library was called to order by president Gold.
The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
The financial report for October was read and approved. Total dis-
bursements for the month, $3,749.85. Bank balance, $7,692.68 and
book balance $2,947.60. As of 10-31-83 balance operating funds were
$4,745.08
Philpot's library progress report was read and approved. Circulation
for October 7,148. Books purchased 422. The librarian's financial
report was 12,424.81 total monies available.
Old business; Elliott reported on he talk with R t G'bson Director
of Stonehaven branch of the library°r`�n t a c4tio an ansportation
to and from the library for residents. No solutions were reached and
Elliott will contunue to work on this problem.:
Seever reported on her work concerning the library's participation
in the Christmas Stroll. After discussion, it was agreed that the
AAUW would be asked to be responsible for the story telling in the
library during the stroll.
Jacob reported on getting the city ordinance for the library from
City Attorney, Joe McMaster's office. The ordinance was presented at
the meeting by Jacob. Discussion followed. Each member received a
copy of the ordinance to read and report on any suggested changes or
corrections at the next meeting.
Discussion of the City's impending bond issue followed, and the need
to establish the amount of money we would need for the building plans.
It was agreed that we should establish a cost amount of the purposed
building with some visible plans, to be ready to submit to the City
Council as soon as possible, that the board would contact Bill Gooch,
(library architect) and David Voelter, architect and ask them to
meet with us in a special call meeting to seek their advice. At this
time the City ordinance could also be discussed and made ready to
be presented at the next council meeting.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned -
Next meeting Dec. 7th at 10 a. m.
