Library Board Meeting - January 4, 1984, 10:00 A.M.
Members present: Gold, Philpot, Jacob, Elliott, Weir, Williams
Mr. Bill Gooch, Assistant State Librarian, and Mr. David Voelter, Architect,
met with Board to show the City of Georgetown map with suggested three
alternate sites for the proposed new Library building. 12 million dollars
was given as a ball park figure to take care of our needs for twenty years.
$55.00fsq.ft. building costs plus $25.00jsq.ft. for furniture, etc., for
20 thousand sq.ft.
Mr. Voelter and Mr. Gooch made a nice presentation. $800,000 for 10,000
sq.ft. (the minimum). Future site was local estimated costs at this time.
The following names were submitted as proposed Library Board members:
Winifred Bonner, Jesse Valdez and Parker McCullough.
Next meeting will be February 1, 1984 at 10:00 A.M.
